A good way is just just take out $20-40 every week or every other week. It may take awhile to save up enough but $20-40 won't be missed much. Also try buying a candybar at a store and use your debit card for 'cash back' and just say you bought something(preferably something useful like toilet tissue, cleaning supplies, etc.)

Or just open a copmpletly seperate banking account and deposit money in it.

Relatively new to this but already find myself is how do I hide more funds from SO without getting caught...I was thinking altering some of my deposit to another account and just reducing other deductions and 401k to make up the difference..any other ideas? I really want to spoil her more..

When all these banks accounts, etc. have to be declared on your tax form.  That's when things get dicey, just ask any accountant.

The best way is to siphon off some cash, and use whatever plausible excuse you can to the SO as to where it goes (lunches are always a good one.)

Also, if you get reimbursements for anything at work, go and cash those checks and hold on to the loot.  Those don't show up on your 1040, usually.

And if you have the cajones, and your SO starts to get nosy and ask where is the $ going, look her right in the eye and say:

"I'm spending it on hookers, what's it to you?"

Be sure you know how to run fast.

Very good point regarding bank accounts mrfisher! Personally, I simply keep my play money as cash in a safe deposit box. With interest rates being so stingy it's not as if one is giving up any interest income.

I am thinking of saving money off into a stock account several hundred each pay period..already told SO 25% yearly bonus will be smaller than normal and I do my own taxes..  Thanks for your thoughts, I was just wondering what everyone else does with a SO bc I found that I cannot resist spending even extra on her, it gets me really going lol..ahh I only wished I had found out about this prior to last yrs bonus..lol.

There's no easy answer for your question without knowing everything about your personal finance, but I do know it's usually not a good idea to sacrifice your future (reducing 401K) to fulfill your near term thrill. I think it may be best if you look for possibilities of additional income. Siphon off money from additional income usually is a lot less noticeable to SO.

Yup :) I know I am biased toward skimming off the top of additional income because that's how I did it. Many of us have talents that has not been monetized. It may be your hobby or your talent, outside your line of work. If you can make money off them then it's quite easy to skim from the top. You shouldn't think of it as additional work because you know you will get lots of enjoyment out of it. Who knows? You may eventually end up making more money outside of your work, like I did. :) When you make so much money that you have trouble hiding it, you should come back here and I'll give you more pointers on how to hide them. :)

I do make a good living I guess skimming is the easy part its how I have to intercept mail and my play checks in the mail that is the cumbersome part.

My wife and I each have our own personal checking accounts and we have an agreed upon amount that is direct deposited from our paychecks.  I used to use mine for hunting and fishing equipment but since I have most all of that stuff I need, it goes to providers.  I did buy a new fly rod this spring just to keep up appearances,  I also skim a twenty every time I get cash from an ATM machine which is 2-4 times a week.  It adds up.

on how you look at things. I am a terrible liar so I don't like to lie because I know I will get caught if I try. My solution is to make it unnecessary for me to lie. I simply avoid anything that may raise suspicion. If there's no suspicion then there's no question. When you are been asked about things that you are trying to hide, I feel you have already lost the game. You were either not good enough at it or were not careful enough. BTW, I enjoy the game of hide and seek. :) So, I don't feel cumbersome because I enjoy the game.

Have you considered renting a PO box? In the beginning, I used my brother's address. I just went over every couple of weeks to pick up my mail. When your secondary income really starts to grow, you probably will end up running it as a business. That's when you really will have a lot of options to hide your money.

I'm single, no SO, so I have nothing to offer.

My SO is pretty clueless about our money.  So long as my paycheck is direct deposited every other Friday that's all she sees.  I opened a separate account two years ago and have $200 per check going to it and she's never noticed because she never sees my paystub (since it's dd).  But we're basically roomates in our marriage so we don't discuss much with each other.

I have a weekly budget of cash that is my discretionary income (my SO has the same).  I simply keep my spending down for the weeks and skim/save $20-$40 each week.

You will be on a date in no time.

I just increased my "pocket cash".  What I don't spend is play money.  I don't carry it all but stash where she won't find it.

just keep a separate account

doesn't have to be in the bank - an envelope or old wallet in your sock or underwear drawer
