I'm the host of the newbie board.  Perfectstorm gave you some good answers to your questions.  One thing I'm not sure he mentioned, is that you can not mention any other review site by name on TER.  The rules do not allow competitors' names to be posted here.  You can also not mention the name of any delisted provider either.  That's sometimes tough because we don't always know if a provider has been delisted.  If your not sure, search for her handle in the reviews section.  If she is delisted, it will tell you that her information is no longer available.  Other than that, the common sense things that you mentioned pretty much sums it up as to what is allowable in posts.

Oh, never mention specific hotels or street names either, if you want to help someone out as to a good place to stay, do it privately, using the PM system.  To get yourself known, start posting on your regional board so your name gets around.  You are allowed to post an ad on the regional ad board once every 7 days.  If you are going to tour away from home, be sure you included the dates you will be in a certain city in the subject line of your touring ad.

If you have any questions you want to ask privately, feel free to PM me anytime, I'll try to help as much as I can.

Hello everyone!  I've finally decided to use TER as a viable alternative to local boards here in Seattle.  I'm looking around the boards the the site in general, and I do have a few questions:

1. It seems I do have a review on here under my full name (Magdalene Hart) should I change my handle to reflect that?  I'd like to be able to link my TER ID with my handle

2. What is the White List I keep reading about?  Is it simply a short hand for providers to verify clients?  Similar to P411?

3. I'm having a difficult time finding out what is considered "bannable" here.  Other than basic stuff like being polite, keeping private info private, and not posting ads in non-ad forums, what sort of things are not allowed?

I guess that's all for  me I guess.  I tried posting a "hi I'm new!" post in the Seattle Regional Board, and I guess I broke a rule.  Just want to make sure I'm toeing the line, so to speak.

Adieu!
Mag

Read the self help center. It is located at the top right of the page under the life preserver. there is a lot fo good information there. Specifically the fourth topic down on that list "some info for providers" will probably answer all the questions you have in this post. I will try to answer them here anywyay, but definitely go check out that link.

1) You do not have to change your posting handle to your review name. Many ladies have two different names. You just need to cntact admin to get your reviews linked to your board handle. It does explain how to do it in that link.
2) The whitelist is sort of like an ok on P411. Some ladies will use it for screening and some don't, but basically you can whitelist a hobbyist, if you saw him and you feel he is safe for others to see. How to do it is explaned in the link.
3) You are certainly allowed to say "hi" and introduce yourself on the Seattle or any discussion board. The only reason I can see that they pulled the post, is that they might have considered it an ad. Ads can only be placed on the ad boards, and only once every 7 days. You cna have a link to your website and a picture in your ad. If you had a link to your website on your 'hi" post, that might have been why it was pulled. I believe you can post a link to your site on a post if you are answering somoene elses post, but not if you are starting a thread. Agian all thes rules can be found in the self help cneter. As far as other message board posting rules, they can also be found there and under "message board policies," right next to the "self help center."

Welcome and good luck. The TER boards in Seattle and Portland are pretty dead, but there are quite a bit of reviews from those areas. So, there are definitely TER members there, but they just don't use the boards much. I know there are other competing sites that are more popular in the northwest. Hopefully the TER boards can become more active and it is still good for you to post there anyway, because hobbyists visiting from other cities may know TER and not know the other boards, so if you are one of the ladies on the board, you can be found.
Have fun!

I saw your ad post on the Seattle board. If that was the post you had on the regular discussion board, then it was definitley moved ot the ad board as it is obbviously an ad. On the other hand if you placed that post on the ad board, and had another post on the discussion board just saying "hello," then it still may have subtly been an ad if it had your link. My suggestion is to leave the ad post as is on the ad board, and post another "hello seattle, I'm new to TER and just introducing myself" post on the discussion board. If you don't have a picture or link or contact info, it should stay up. You might want to wait until you get your handle linked to your reviews, because then when you post on any board, the link to your reviews will show up by your name.

Thank you for the responses!  I have one question though, when a lady is delisted, will her name still appear but have some sort of note about how she is delisted, or will she simply not appear?  I ask because I have no idea if any of my duo partners are even on TER, let alone if they've been delisted since then.

the only thing that you will get is the msg, that says something like this, "that provider's information is no longer available", don't think it will mention her name.
