You were supposed to travel to Las Vegas this month, or at least I was trying to talk you into it. The month is almost over, and there's no Ciara on my doorstep. Sheesh.
hey look, might sound crazy, but i have never attempted to look. now i am retired and loaded with money. i want to enjoy and smell the roses! live in the san antonio, texas area, where would be a good place to start. i know these kind of places don't advertise, or do they?

Break loose some of that cash and spring for a TER VIP membership.
Since San Antonio seems to fall under the shadow of Houston, they haven't yet rated their own metro area category here. That would also warrant them having their own regional discussion board here. So, they fall under the category of "OTHER". You can look on the "Other" discussion board and search for San Antonio or your local abbreviations and variations, SA, etc. OR you can leave the City field "blank" and enter 210 in the area code field. I think this works best.
I have travelled to SA several times in the past two years on business and can say that for a metro area of 2 million, things are a little quieter there than I expected. But still, you have some nice ladies there.
Another possibility is travel to Houston. You know how close it is for you better than I and you can imagine that the possibilities expand greatly.
Austin is also much smaller than Houston as well as smaller than SA.
SA to Houston is under 4 hours by car. Living in the "boon docks" myself, I travel that distance often.
Interesting thing. One time when I was in Houston, I asked some locals what there is to do here for fun and they all replied, "Go to San Antone". I don't think they had hobbying in mind tho.
Since you are retired, I would suggest you do some travelling and plan your hobbying activities accordingly. I have many clients who do this, and travel throughout the US. These gents look in each area they wish to visit, put together their wish list, and just enjoy themselves in different cities, in more ways than one! *wink*
