A while back I wrote up a quick start guide to TER for providers that are new to the site.  Click on the link below to get to it.  I hope you find the information useful.

In my opinion, it never hurts to "hint" to clients that you appreciate reviews.

I am a provider in the Chicago area and LOVE this site, however, I am not sure how I can get MY information on here if that makes sense...Should I "hint" to my clients to review me on here? Is it to MY benefit to pay for the VIP? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, Id just like to make the most of it...THANK YOU!!

There was a thread on the GD board recently where VIP for Providers was discussed.  Link below.
VIP is not a "must have" for providers but I now understand how at least some of them consider it useful.

Getting reviews is a good thing, provided they're positive.  Good ones will help your business and bad ones will harm it. If you have a really good session with a client, then by all means ask for (but do not insist on) a review. On the other hand; if you've misrepresented yourself in some way and you see a disappointed look on your client's face (or his demeanor is less than enthusiastic)don't ask for a review.

Isn't there something called "limited VIP" for providers so can the read their own reviews only? Does "limited VIP" get anything else, like PM?
