Have patience.  Other than one of the referal services, there are some agencies and even some providers that will see you if you give them the information they ask for.  Do not give out any information you are not comfortable with sharing.

When I contacted my first two providers I explained that I was new and had no references, and asked what information they needed from me to screen me. They both asked for my name and work info (I have my own company so that wasn't a big deal) and that was that.

After that, one of them invited me to join Preferred411 and I also got an OK from the other provider, so these days I just initiate contact through Preferred411 and the providers can see my references.

One thing that could help is to search on Preferred411 for newbie friendly providers. It will say newbie friendly in their profile. You don't have to be a member to do that. If her profile says newbie friendly she shouldn't need references for obvious reasons.

Some of us will see newbies, as long as we can verify that you are who you say you are. It would help if you joined on of the verification sites such as P411.
