Hi there, I am new to this service.  I called a few places to make an appointment but was asked to provide a "provider reference."  I don't have any since this is my first time.  How do I over come this hurdle.

You can either join a screening service like Room Service 2000 or write a brief and sincere appeal to the provider explaining your situation and give a lot of personal information on yourself and hope that she will take a chance on you.

Date Check, Preferred411, RS2K are the 3 big ones.  See which one(s) are dominant in your area.  Or you could search for providers that are newbie friendly and do not require references.  You may have to provide them with some personal info so they can verify that you are who you say you are.
