First line of defense, screen screen screen thoroughly. Check client references so that you weed out as best you can the potential ass holes.
However, considering many guys here are older financially stable guys who are able to blow a couple hundred on a hot girl every now and then, my guesstimate is that most are not assholes. Some are assholes yes. Some are board assholes but not an asshole in person. lol
One strategy is: You can get a feel for what the client's personality is like by asking for his TER handle, many guys don't seem to have a problem telling you their TER handle. By knowing their TER handle, you can see if they have "white lists" from other providers.
Cons of using this site, you may be tempted to get obsessed about getting good reviews and sometimes there can be reviews posted by clients you may not like. There's also a lot of review inflation going on. Occasional blackmail and or crazy providers threatening clients after he posted an honest review. Goes both ways, assholes sometimes threaten a girl with bad reviews.
On average though, it seems to me that girls with tons of reviews (more than 40+) most likely have more honest reviews than inflated / deflated reviews.
It's not a perfect system by any means but it has a TON of resources for clients to do research on the girls they want to see and to a limited extent resources (post history/whitelists) you can do research on clients. Until there's a better site, I'm probably sticking to TER
There are always assholes around, but if you are careful, and are diligent in your screening, you can minimize the likelihood of dealing with them. Suggest you read the self help center, it has lots of tips and pointers on how to be successful in this hobby.
