I have the same concern.  I had my STD test last month, about 30 days after my last encounter, and everything came out fine.  Of course, HIV tests are not accurate unless you wait 6 months between encounter and test.  I didn't do anything "risky" but there is always a fear in the back of my mind that I might have caught something like that.  I went to a public free clinic, so it was mandatory for me to meet with a counselor.  She was a real bitch because she was judging me.  I told her I was hobbying, and she looked at me like "are you crazy???"  The male nurse was cool...he gave me the results 2 weeks later.  He said it's much harder to get HIV than other STDs.  The one to watch out for is Ghonoreah, which is easy get.  If you use a condom, your risk of HIV is relatively low....

Also, to quickly respond to something YOU mentioned ...
As long as YOU wear a condom, you SHOULD be OKAY.  The ONLY problems YOU MAY encounter are those that can be transmitted VIA areas that the condom DOESN'T COVER.  Allow me to elaborate ...

I'm talking about HSV (aka: Herpes) and HPV (aka: genital warts)
These are genuine areas of concern for EVERYONE involved and so EACH encounter should be approached cautiously.  
Now, I don't mean that you need to have EVERY light in the room ON & have HER feel like she's being inspected by a GYNECOLOGIST ... No, no, no! :0
Just be subtle about it.  Genital Warts are often large enough to be felt by one's hands.  So feel free to check her out.  She needn't know WHY you're so thorough "down there".  HELL, I doubt she'd even care to tell you the truth!  (ha*ha)

Now, as far as Herpes is concerned ... heck, even with HPV ... I'm confident that IF you do an Online search (perhaps try Google) you will be able to find enough PICS of each condition to familiarize yourself with WHAT they LOOK LIKE beforehand so as not to expose yourself unnecessarily!

The important thing is to EDUCATE yourself.  Regarding the above AND regarding each & every Provider BEFORE you even CALL her!!  TER is your friend, believe me.  It can save you a WORLD of TROUBLE as long as you take the time to learn the ins & outs of the tools availble here, you know what I mean??
