I think Perfect Storm was a GREAT pick for host of this board, but I don't think any of us have heard from him for months. I know I haven't.  

 
With life being breathed back into these boards there are a LOT of members, new and old, who either don't know the rules or have simply forgotten them and could most definitely use the help that has always been available on this board. I know that Admin, both Board and TER, are most likely swamped with other tasks, like getting the review database repopulated, and with PS MIA, perhaps permanently, I think it might be time to consider finding someone/s to either take over until he finds his way back here or take over permanently if he never returns.

 
Jack reiterated a suggestion that was made a couple of years ago that host duties be shared by co-hosts, one male and one female. I can speak from experience having been a former moderator of this board that while I felt 100% qualified to help out the guys, especially from a "guys perspective" there were always questions coming up that needed a female perspective, preferably from an experienced provider who could give even handed advice and who was not a TER hater, or even worse a Man Hater. I know a few names were being thrown around, both male and female before PS was picked to host this board, (with almost unanimous approval), I think it might be time to do this again

 
Personally, I think that xyz23 from the guys side, and Debra_Hollander from the lady's side would make a great tag team to help get the newbies off on the right foot and put the oldtimers back on the right path if they have lost their way around this place.

PS Deb, this doesn't mean I am going to start kissing your ass, or agreeing with you on all matters regarding screening/deposits etc, but I sincerely think you would be a perfect fit for the job.

Is this a paid gig?  Otherwise asking people to volunteer countless hours for a profit making organization ...

I would worry about becoming a target of the Feds if the moderator is located in the US and is any way involve in the facilitation of prostitution.  

Frankly even as irregular posters we all run that risk.

and we are NOT talking about becoming a moderator like I once was, we are only talking about being a host/co-host.

 

Anyone volunteering for this UNPAID job will do so out of a genuine interest in helping this become a better site and helping the new members here than they will out of any sense of potential gain.

FAQ means "FREQUENTLY Asked Questions" and it needs to be updated.  The Qs should be the FREQUENTLY asked Qs and the answers need updating and improving.

When TER Admin gets around to sponsoring a TER Retreat to discuss new policies, site modifications, Review database changes, etc., the revision of the FAQ for Newbies should also be on the agenda.

By that I mean, who cares if someone is an "official host" or just one of several volunteers? And do you really think LE is going to differentiate between a moderator and a "host" if they come after the "new" TER? I doubt it. But my guess is the way TER is now configured it's unlikely LE will come after them, since it would be too much work with too little prospect of success.
Also, until I see that this page has become unmanageable without a host I fail to see the point of officially naming one. My guess is GaG would LOVE to me named host but doesn't have the balls to admit it.
As for PS, some of us, including the OP, know EXACTLY where he is and last I heard he was on a multi-month project. I would love to see him come back here and I'd say the odds are good.
Be patient.

As for PS, I know where he "was" but I don't think any of us know where he "is".  and no, the page is not unmanageable YET, but with so few veterans that have been active for the last couple of years and so many people expected to return, many of them I think a lot of questions are going to go unanswered if this board goes without someone/s being the go to person, just like most of the questions asked here over the last several months have gone unanswered in the absence of a host, or anyone else on the boards besides five people who spent 99% of their time here arguing about politics.

 
I probably wouldn't have mentioned it at all until more posters had returned, but seeing that the two most qualified people besides Perfect Storm himself are already back in the persons of xyz23 and Deb, I thought it's something that TER might want to get ahead of BEFORE the wheels came off.

where did ANYONE say I was interested in the job? In fact, I said there shouldn't even BE a job. So it's clear you have some sort of pathological condition that forces you to make shit up out of whole cloth.
And also, it should be screamingly obvious to even a jabbering idiot (you, perhaps?) that I would be a terrible mod. I proved that beyond the shadow of a doubt on another site. Of course, it was my INTENT to be an awful mod so I succeeded. ROR!

I appreciate your vote of confidence however at this time I will neither confirm nor deny my interest in being a host on this board. I will as always do what I can to help. I'm going to need some time to familiarize myself with the changes that occured while I was gone. I know there were some. One change I hope will continue is Admins participation. I think it's great that Admin has been posting and responding to threads. That should be the norm from here on out.
I don't remember if it was impposter or JD that said it but the FAQ'S need rewriting. Some are confusing and some are inaccurate. I was vocal about this long before now.  

Here's hoping perfectstorm returns soon. He was a real asset to us all.

If he wants to continue as host, he should be afforded some extra time to get back to us bc he is a real good guy and a great host here.

 
No one knows this place better than PS. I hope he does come back soon. He has helped me, and many, many, many others here over the years in NUMEROUS ways and on MANY occasions and I am grateful to him for that.

 
That said, we can't wait forever either. I think February 1st would be more than enough time.

I was a noob and didn’t pop my cherry in this world until last year...I lurked for many years actually. I admit it. I paid the VIP though so I could have full access and read the boards. I’ve enjoyed the banter, laughed my ass off late at night, but most importantly you guys and gals gave me the knowledge I needed to finally make a decision on when it was the right time for me to get off the pot and enter this world. And when I did I was able to go in eyes wide open because of all the advice on these boards. Whomever gets the nod or steps up, thanks for what you do. It’s important. I know those of you on TER helped me not be a total schmo...ok, this love fest is over. 😪🤧😂
