I just finished with a provider who was "highly reviewed", had no visible lesions, and we were careful (condom at all times), but I still was hoping for a bit more peace of mind. I don't plan on seeing escorts ever again because it isn't my thing, but I wanted to know if any of you have gotten herpes from a provider. How many have you seen, did you ever see the herpes, etc.
I know I either have it or I don't, but I would sleep a lot better at night until my STD tests 2 weeks from now if I heard about some of you all going through dozens of providers with never getting herpes.
...I always use a condom for intercourse. I get tested regularly. I only see ladies that offer uncovered blow jobs and I enjoy DATY. I have never caught something from a provider. ( or a civie for that matter)
From 1975 through 1997 (minus three 2-year interludes when I was in monogamous relationships) I had sex with over a hundred different women. I used a condom less than half the time. From 1998-2001 I was in another relationship. In 2002 I discovered TER, and have not been with a civilian woman since. I have been with maybe 50 different providers - six not using a condom.
I have never had any form of STD. I started testing quarterly in 1998 as I was working in a Blood Bank, and was starting a new relationship. I continued quarterly testing until 2006, now I just go twice a year.

And now you are just being a hypochondriac and looking for reasons to think you might NOT have it? Wow. Seeing escorts isn't for you at all.
I have never had herpes. Herpes is one of those things that you would have for life.
If you want to make sure you don't have it, then get tested at a doctor's to make sure you don't have it. But your logic is crazy. I suppose I could use your logic, and make sure I shake all my shoes every morning to make sure that a roach hasn't crawled into it in the middle of the night. I mean, I live in NYC, and even I have never seen a roach in my apartment, using your logic, I should test for roaches in my shoes.
We play unprotected, or we don't do it. She can feel an outbreak a couple of days before it shows. She takes Rx Valtrex to suppress an out break and no play until it's well past...
Honestly, I don't thnk you have anything to worry about. Incidentally, if you have tried this but decided it's not for you. That's fine. You probably learned a whole bunch about yourself. Go & live a happy life. This is NOT for everyone. HV
I had read about transmission rates online, and they are incredibly low (9 per 10,000 sex acts), which simply made no sense to me because a rate that low seems like it couldn't lead to 1 in 4 adults having genital herpes.
Anyway, I didn't enjoy the experience much on its own--not because I'm being paranoid after the fact. I did it because I needed to answer a very simple question for myself: Do I care about having drop-dead gorgeous women, or is hot enough all I care about? You see, I have a girlfriend that I want to commit to but I didn't know if my desire for other women was simply being a guy if there was something magical about these 10's that 8's and 9's didn't have. There wasn't for me, so that's that. If I were single and I wouldn't give a shit very much, but the fear of passing something to her when I go visit her is what I was bothered by.
But it's statistically probable that some providers and some clients do have herpes. It's not like those who have been infected are ever going to come forth with that info.
Assume that some providers have seen clients with herpes, and some may be infected. There is no possible way to tell who they are or how many.
It's your call to make, if you feel comfortable with the risk or not. Don't let anybody kid you that the risk isn't there, or is lessened if she's well-reviewed. Think about it, does that really make sense?
