I found a steel (mints) tin with a snug hinged lid.  Either of my phones fit just nice.  It blocks the signal.  I'm keeping my hobby phone in it, shut off, swapping my civie phone when off the grid.  No one may ever try to track my phone but better to avoid the data collection.

Phone signal blocking for hobbying is new on me. Could you explain why signal blocking is important to you and who might be tracking your phone. This has piqued my interest and I'd like to know more. I do have a hobby phone that I use only for hobbying. I do not have a SO or any one to worry about. I mainly got the phone because when I was a little less experienced I used my civie phone which was initially ok. Then I would occasionally get the "todays special" type texts from a few providers I'd seen. But then I unfortunatley hooked up with a clinger that went way over the line with unwanted texts and even calls when she needed $. It pissed me off so I shut down my whole operation and started to think more of the cons of using my personal phone ie my number showing up on the phone of a busted provider. I wised up and got the burner phone and things have been just fine. What kind of risks could I be exposed to with my burner phone?

For some strange reason, he's talking about blocking the signal. You can't block the signal or become untraceable by simply powering down your phone. You need to remove the battery. If its a smart phone or you're unable to remove the battery, I have no idea how to block the signal. Why are you worried about the signal or your phone being traced? It's really not that serious...

First, welcome to the newbie board Stacie! :)

True, I guess I am not used to thinking quite to that level of paranoia. I turn off my ringer when I show up so that there is no interruption and I think usually the lady does to. I have only had one session where I could hear a phone going off. My last one. And honestly I was silently grinning to myself thinking that she must have been a little embarrassed to have left the ringer on as  a call or two and a couple text or email notifications came in while I was there. Silly girl :)~

Back on topic though, I suppose I should ask WHY you are using this tin? Is it for GPS? Because you can turn that off.

Yes to block GPS or triangulating which uses cell towers for the same purpose.
