Get the Go Phone from AT&T.

Having spent the last 2 years in "the hobby" it is getting harder and harder to see who I want for 2 main reasons: I am self employed and do not own a cell phone! The problem is providers want work verification, and, once an appt. is given, they need to call from a identifiable phone and not a blocked # (pay phone). I certainly provide home/home office phone #'s which are both listed in the local directories, but for some reason not having a verifiable employer and a cell phone makes ears stand up. I did join RS2000 so to make it easier but it seems that some providers don't subscibe...I am really not sure how that works. Any help out there?

Find providers who don't require work verification or only use the ones who use rs2000. It is not worth the frustration and wasting your time. Clients need to stop being so desperate and willing to accept such ridiculous and stupid rules. The place of employment and work number is nobody's business. It is a very serious violation of privacy and security. I have seen to many stories where a pissed off provider calls up a client's work number to get him in trouble.

Remember he who has gold rules.

The work verification has gone too far.  You are providing employment for these girls, if anybody should check for references, its you!!  You are the client, and like any other business the client is always right !  They should bend over backward to accomodate you, not the other way around.

Ok! You gotta live in a VERY rural or unpopulated area.
Shit! On the west coast a cell phone is a standard accessory for anyone over the age of 10. There are ways for providers to get around the "self employed" problem but you do need a way for them to contact you with room #s etc while you are in transit to them. It is obvious that both the trouble of going around your self employment problem AND the fact that you cannot be as easily reached is making the ladies pass you by. you can get a cheap phone and pre-paid plan for about $100. Either modernize yourself or go by the way of the dinosour.

Verizon has the free-up plan. You can use that so you don't have to worry about getting a cellphone bill at home for your spouse to find out about.

Go take a look at the post on the Legal Board from a hobbyist that got busted.  If you are a VIP and the poster is a VIP, PM him and ask him how he got taken down.
I prefer providers who verify the pants off of me if I am a first timer for them.  Her doing so gives me some insight into  her legitimacy and it also lets me know that she is caution and that I will not walk into a problem that a careless person has set up.  Hobbyists who do not want their lives ruined should prefer providers who they have carefully researched and who use strong verification procedures.

Thanks for all the help......the cell phone situation is simple: I had a cell phone for about 6 months and really overused it, and I know the West Coast rules when it comes to fashionable things in life and that is why I don't eat sushi or use a cell phone.  find it much more economical to have a 1-800 pager and call people back when I need to. Thanks for the tips though!

SO how do you know if the provider who is verifing you is not LE ?

The bottom line is common sense. One of my rules is to never user a provider who has not been reviewed by a well know hobbist.

Running point can be dangerous.

Good strong verification is for your benefit as well as the provider's benefit.  Forget this stuff about being the customer.  You will probaly feel differently the day you become a perp, which is almost surely going to happen to you if you continue to insist upon light to no verification.  Nothing beats doing good review research and selecting an apparently stable person, who then verifies you to confirm that you are who you say you are - beats being walked to a car in handcuffs anyday.

Most providers screen carefully BEFORE a member of TER is even allowed one foot into the hotel room.

I have never done incall. Incall screening is more strick. Outcall providers are more at ease.

Think of it as a necessary "accessory" for the hobby, like condoms and TEr membership.  Go ahead and resolve that you'll only use the phone for this one purpose.

They're cheap.  I'm paying about $20/month for mine, which is also about the same as TER membership.  Compared to even one hour of any lady's time, that's nothing.

But best of all, even though you may not see it as a useful invention right now, once you have one, you may decide it's convenient and useful for other purposes.  Happened to me.

I agree ... take your business elsewhere. I called an Agency to ask about a provider. They asked me for a reference from another Agency. I politely said that I used an Agency (giving them the name of that agency) and suddenly this guy got rude and said "we don't take reference from that agency, can't help you, and banged the phone". I was shocked. If you are decent and polite and were treated that way .. yes, take your business elsewhere.

I am retired, (forced by back injury) and being home my wife (of  33 Years) can answer the phone, not acceptable. I have a cell phone BUT they send the numbers called on your bill. (AT&T) My last provider (late last December), retired. To put it bluntly I'm Fucked if I want some of these providers.
I can afford them but I feel I need some privacy from their prying eyes. I love my wife But there is NO sex there, I still have needs especially since I take shot treatments.
Can one of these providers give me some ideas what would be acceptable to them!!
Thanks,
Donald007

How did she check out yout Drivers license?? Call the police & run a check? They won't do that in Calif anymore, unless your law enforcement connected.

The Go Phone requires no credit check, no contract, and you recieve no bills, if discretion is a concern.
They usually have a kiosk at Walmart or you can get info at www.attwireless.com
The calling plans start at about $19.99 p/month and go up from there. It just makes sense to have a phone that she can reach you at in an emergency and for verification purposes.
Good luck. xxx Octavia.

Write some reviews and keep girls #s you see if say a prepaid phone like I do. Then when you want to be discreet and see new lady in new city, just say I wrote a lovely review and here is # to the lady and she knows me. I saw her and reviewed her.  Then they check out the info and it get's me out of giving  a work #. Clever and painless.
