Hello all I am new to the scene and I meet with my first provider today. Everything went great I enjoyed myself. Here is the issue now I am freaking out about the hole STD thing. She gave me head while I was wearing a condom and we had sex using a condom; should I be worried? She is a well reviewed provieder in the MD area. Do providers usually get checked for STD's and what do you think my chances of contracting something is considering we used protection?

Check out the "newbie manual" as it's called. At top of page under moderator contact info there is a link called self help. There is some info on STD's and playing safe. From research I've done, every provider or agency is different. I've seen anywhere from monthly to quarterly to bi-annualy.  If  she was a well reviewed provider I'm sure she is as careful as possible for both hers and your safety.

Thanks for the info it was much appreciated. I think I am a good fit for this hobby and I think any one that says they dont worry about STD's is full of it. I did do my first review and I hope to do more in the near future. I am still a little nervouse but if I play it safe I hope ill be ok.

Then either don't worry or quit the hobby. And if you have an SO, decide what you are going to do about having sex with her/him.

Better to have a plan, and take precautions than worry. STDs are a real issue, a real risk, of course. Likelihood of exposure depends on a few things - I have seen very casual providers who seem to take minimal precautions, and other who are very fastidious, almost too much so (disinfectant wipes, Listerine, constantly replacing condoms, etc) , and everything in between. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell how careful a provider is until you see her (believe me, there is no tactful way to ask), and being too careful can be a bit of a turnoff as it interrupts the passionate abandon. And no matter what, there will come that day when a condom breaks and then where will you be?
