Get tested often.

Providers should get tested monthly due to high number of partners they have - they really have no excuse.  Hobbyists should get tested at least 1-2 times per year - more depending upon how often you hobby.

If you're using IV drugs or have health issues like diabetes that lead to a compromised/weakened immune system, you should find another hobby for everyone's sake.

The safest course of action is abstinence.

As a newbie I am just very worried about getting any disease while doing the hobby. I assume that most of the providers and hobbyist are disease free, but there is still fair amount of risk invovlved. So I just wondering how regularly should get STD/HIV tested while engage in the hobby to be on the safe side? Thanks.

After every session or whenever you start showing symptoms or..........

Correct Answer - Whenever you feel that you shoud be.

Fear is good, paranoia is self defeating.  If it's gonna bother you that much, don't start!

I think every six months is a safe bet as a general rule of thumb, but if you are doing IV drugs and have a bunch of other risk factors, it's safe to say that you better get tested more often.

tested that regularly with your primary care provider.  PM me for a list of these clincs if you are interested.
