Hi all, just got to know TER and I must say, the organization here is awesome.
I wish there were something here were I live.
So I'm a foreiner and I'll be visiting the US, in the end of the year.
I read a lot here in the foruns about the processes (screening), 2-call systems, etiquete, etc.
I'd like to know if I could book some conseling with the awesome providers without a valid US phone number, or you guys think that it would be better to have a local phone? Because my phone in roaming is going to show as 00 on the display (my guess) when I call someone, and also, I guess the girls wouldn't like to call me in a non local number. I'd also like to know if somebody had already have problems with this kind of thing. I mean, has somebody been in this situation before?
Don't wait until you get here, especially if your stay will be short. You may find yourself with blue balls. If you have references abroad that would be helpful, but I am afraid you may have to jump through quite a few hoops to be screened by reputable and well reviewed providers.

No abroad references, from other providers, unfortunatelly. Would a screening service help? Like P411? I understood that some providers ask for that.
Most out of country calls show caller ID for me, including their cell phones calling from within the US. What general location are you visiting? Some verification services are more popular in some areas than others. I would suggest visiting the relevant local board for more detailed local info.
you need to get a phone. a disposable cell phone with no contract would work fine. alternatively, i have a local skype phone number that i can use from my smart phone, which has the added benefit of keeping my phone log clean.
