I think the effectiveness of a condom is approx 98% or so, if a minimum knowledge of how to store them/use them is a given. Those are pretty good odds right? Well actually only you can make that risk assessment for yourself.

Maybe start with FBSM, and ease your way into FS?
Always use a condom (If you are concerned you can bring your own, but any reputable provider will have them).

std's are more of a concern than pregnancies.  Nothing is 100% foolproof.  So, if you are that worried, this is not the hobby for you.  Quality providers do not want to get pregnant, nor do they want to spread std's, so they take the proper precautions.  You are prob safer with an established provider than you would be with some chick you picked up in a local watering hole.

or catch an STD. Evidently, the two condoms are likely to stick to each other and break. Sometimes it pays to read the instructions.

I just don't think providers want to carry some hobbist child for nine months.  These girls love money and why would they want to miss out on 9 months of making money to carry some a baby around.  I can't see why they would want to be in the business if they are willing to get pregnant.  All they money they make is enough to deter them from wanting to get pregnant or spreading STD.

Well, you know, if they get pregnant, they can threaten the hobbyist to do their any work. In short, blackmailing. Isn't this plausible?

 So, I am a total noob to hobbying. I have been wanting to book an appointment with a provider for a few weeks now, but always pussy out of this, as I get scared of this situation: what if she gets pregnant!?    
   
 I know, condoms are used, but are they 100% reliable?  
   
 Would be great if you guys could throw some light on my situation, or give some advice/tips (do's/dont's), or just anything related to this.
