In searching through many of the agency photo spreads, I have noticed some of the most gorgeous providers have been with agencies for a long time. Wouldn't they do alot better if they branch off on their own and become independents? I know many agencies as a whole have a bad reputation as it is for giving rushed services ,etc. There are a few providers I would like to see on a more frequent basis but I hate going through the agency everytime. It would be more fun to get to be with these particular ones without the red tape of the agency each time I see them.
You can ask why any bright person decides to work for a large company rather than start his own business.
Just because you're good at your specialty, that does not infer that you are good at all the ancillary work involved which, in this business, involves advertising and setting up a website, scheduling and screening, among other things.
I prefer independents myself for a number of reasons, but I can see how agencies provide an opportunity for women who want to participate, but could not otherwise.
Fish is correct. If a lady is going to be successful as an independent, she will need good business skills (communication via e-mail & phone, screening, scheduling, etc.) as well as the obvious talents.
Many ladies are part-time and dont want to bother with the paperwork and setting up the appt. personally, a lot are in College and want to work for an agency because this is all they know. They come in for the weekend, work and get on with their lives
In my area there are several reputable agencies and dozens of gorgeous and well-reviewed ladies working for them. Escorting is a business and not every lady wants to run her own business. I think making the blanket assumption that all agencies are bad and all independents are good will get you a bad appointment...or two, or ten...sooner or later. I've had great experiences with both indie and agency girls...and bad ones as well.
There are plenty of disreputable agencies, as well as reputable ones. Many of the former put up photos of the most gorgeous women, but the women that you see are not they. Before i joined TER I had plenty of such experiences.
