Private Mail- Basic membership

I got an email saying I have "private mail" at TER but I don't have reviews here and only have basic membership. So when I clicked on the "mail" header it naturally told me just that. I've contacted support to find out what's going on and they gave me the generic rundown on how to get VIP status so I can have PM. I know all this. I'm just trying to find out why I would get a message saying I have private mail when I don't have VIP status.

Do I have mail sitting here that I can't access? I can't seem to get a straight answer from support.

Thanks!

Because we can still send it.  It's just another way of letting basic members know that they should become VIPs.
::shrug::

There's still an envelope next to your name, even if you're a basic member.

Thanks for the info. That's a bummer that people send me mail that goes out into cyber nowhere:((

It isn't really cyber nowhere. There's a mailbox for you that you can't access unless you pay. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

on a VIP membership and watch your investment multiply exponentially in returns for you.

I cannot understand this penurious reticence among providers to not avail themselves VIP and all of its tools.
It's akin to starting a delivery service; but using only a bicycle because you're too cheap to buy gas for a car.

Because it's unnecessary when I'm waiting for my review(s) to post. Which one did today- yay! Now I'm just waiting for them to link my profile:))) If I wasn't going to do the VIP route via reviews I would plunk down the cash-o-la- no prob.

The VIP also offers tools wich aid in your screening and vetting processes.

 Did you also decline call waiting & caller ID on your phone service so as to save working capital$$?

She asked a fair and legitimate question, she didnt come here to be chastised for asking such a harmless question.

Yes, I declined call waiting, because I like to give the people I am speaking to my undivided attention, and prefer that I not be interrupted when trying to do so.

I had TER VIP at one time, but good luck getting guys to hand over their TER handle/username, which there goes any usefulness for screening purposes from that angle.

Have a nice day sir.
