Is it bad form to ask a provider ,who you've seen multiple times, about the availability of one of her friends, who is also in the biz.

Some ladies are very kool and will tell you about a friend. Others not so kool.  What's the worse that could happen if you ask this provider?  I have been asked a number of times by providers, if I'd like to a double with a friend of theirs.  I will also ask for help from a provider, especially if I'm visiting a city I'm not familiar with. Many providers have friends in other cities, besides their hometown.

I never really thought about that before. Would like to hear more provider points of view on this subject.
