There's false advertising everywhere, dropping hundreds per month on advertising isn't for everyone.
I'm assuming there are other gals who do the same. Some also throw ads up every now and again to drum in some new clients, then take the ad down.
For the record, I was constantly told to raise my rates and move onto other sites. So I did. And it worked.
Then they told me to lower my rates. LOL. WTF?
Did I mention all of the guys who said these things started out with, "I don't usually go to BackPage."
Riiiight lol. It's good only when used in conjunction with TER, other verification sites, and/or a website, I would assume.

I start my research HERE. You are doing your research arse backwards. You are missing the whole point of TER. I'll follow ad links where ever they lead & look at the pictures. I'll read the complete reviews. If you are starting on ANY AD VENUE, you'll be wasting a lot of time or taking more risk than I care to.
Have you even read the self help section? How about reading the newbie board? There is tons of information there.
A good number of well respected and reviewed providers do use BP as an advertising method that does gather lots of looks. So do rip off artists, B&S folks, and LE.
Do your research, check the photos, and use all the tools available to you including those on the back of your neck. If it sounds too good then it definitely is.
Verify thru multiple methods before you trust your freedom.

YES, I have thankfully met many great clients that I still continue to see!
Yes, there are some clients I have seen that I will not see again!
YES, there are many bait & switch and sadly I think many trafficked girls/ladies on there.
YES, tons of fake ads, pics etc...
MY opinion is that if you don't have at least $100 to give a lady for a nice half hour massage you should stay home! I'm sure many will think it should be more than $100 but I am a massage + provider.
If you do your research and homework you can find many REPUTABLE Providers on BP.
I have 59 TER reviews, advertise on P411, RS2K and have a professional website too. Many
other reputable, amazing RS2K, p411 ladies advertise on BP also!
I agree it is hit or miss BUT if you do your research and choose wisely you will get great service from BP!
There are many ways to find and discover great providers!

agree there is a reason some have to use backpage. If you are in LA, NYC, Chicago, and any major city, no way in HELL I would ever use that site, but some small towns there is nothing else.
Also, economically, BP is not cheaper than other sites if you have to use it 3 times a week or more. Why anyone would choose to deal with all that headache, is beyond me, but to each their own. I used it for my massage girls, but never GFE. If you're over 400 even in a major city, they act like you're robbing them. No one I know was willing to drop their rate low enough to attract BP guys, but I can tell you there are some serious players on there in the smaller cities.
I've seen many Doctors and Lawyers only use BP because they simply do not know about other sites... I clue them in lol.
Backpage is an ad mall. Nothing more. Many scams, robs, bait and switches and even LE stings. But also some honest good providers on there. I have seen some TER top 100 ladies advertising on BP. I have seen ladies with ads on GLS and add on BP at the same time. As Cosette said it depends where you are. In some places in the country it is actually the best or even the only resource. In other places you don't want to touch it with a 20 foot pole. The key with Backpage is knowing HOW to use it, and obviously you don't. You are not ready. This post should have been on the newbie board. (it is possible it may still get moved there). Either way, you need to spend some time on the newbie board. Read back a bunch of pages there. Also read the Self Help Center. (top of the page, near the life preserver)
My pic has showed on on Portland and New Orleans Back page. I have never worked those areas and have never posted an ad on Back page. My pics were stolen and put on a false ad.......friends that were in those areas brought the ads to my attention.....

....I traveled to Colorado and Wyoming. It is one of the few places to advertise in Wyoming, and the gentlemen I met in Cheyenne were all delightful, and booked multi hours.
BP is good in smaller cities; large cities; not so much.

With BP, it depends on your market area. Most of my clients find me through BP, and it's not all a bunch of negative things like some of the posters have mentioned. It's part of my advertising arsenal, just like Eros, TER, Max Fisch, Slixa, and my own personal website are.
With that being said, there are A LOT of fakes on BP, and many a legitimate provider has had her picture stolen and used by someone else there. I'd recommend google image searching images posted by providers on BP (anywhere, really), to help ensure the image's authenticity. If a provider is advertising as a FS escort in Cleveland and her picture shows up on a pro-domme's website who works out of Florida, I'd move on.
I've met some of my best and most loyal clients through BP. Not everyone is into hobbying as a lifestyle choice or into the hobbyist community, so there's no need to knock people for using BP.
Just do your research and only see well-reviewed ladies on this site.
I have found my ATF's (all time favorite) ads on BP but I originally located her through P411.
You can use BP but for cripes sakes check and see if there are reviews on sites such as this.
Just this week alone I found ads with pictures from Jannessa Brazil and Cameron Diaz.
Not all BP ads are fake. Just a majority of them are.
