I killed my laptop LCD screen.  Bought new one, but has Win 8, and it's taking some time to get used to it.  Highly unpaid assistants will help you until I am comfortable with new puter.

Thanks everyone. and hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve, I did, with an overnight date.  Sorry guys, she's UTR, so no reveiw.  Suffice it to say, it was a wonderful night and morning.....

... your laptop dying out. It happens when you least expect it!!

I have been using Windows 8 since it came out a few months ago. You are correct, it does take some time getting used to it.

However, I am seriously considering going back to Windows 7 only because I really have not seen a great deal of benefit from Win 8. I am always in desktop mode in Win 8 and frankly, with the exception of the "missing" Start button, I don't see much difference between the 2 versions. I think Microsoft wasted a lot of time with Win 8. Microsoft should have called Win 8, Windows Tablet and update Windows 7 with SP3 and be done with it.

Anyways... glad to see that you had a great New Years Eve.

Not sure if you are still having the issue or not, but if you hate win8 metro menu and that's what is causing your problems, here is a good article to make it closer to windows 7.
