Since you don't have references that can "vouch" for you, the verification info is simply so the lady can, well, verify who you are.  They can google your name and make sure you are not some fucking wacko.  The employment part is more to make sure you are not a cop.  The call to your employment is going to be really generic - they don't care where you work - they just want to make sure you really work there.  Back in the olden days when I had to deal with that, I would tell them when they call to say this is Ms. _____ from _____ company returning Mr. _________ call.  They would put the call through to me and that was about that.  It's not really that big of a hassle and IMHO, well worth it.

and you surely won't be the last.  Do not start with as you say, 'less reputable' providers, that will not help youj.  As a newb, you are going to have to give out some personal info until you can accumulate some providers who will vouch for you.  If they are requiring verification of you, that is for their safety as well as yours.

As far as calling your work place goes, if it is necessary, they will use an innocent request, like verifying a doctor's appt, and when switched to you, they hang up.  They now know you do work there.  You would be better off giving it to a site like Preferred411, than to several providers.  Gina at P411 is pretty good at working with you to get you verified so that some providers will see you.  Additionally, providers on that site can indicate if they are newbie friendly, meaning the screening they do is somewhat less demanding as others might be.

Since this is frequently asked question on this forum, do s search for 'verification'.  That should give you plenty of info to absorb.

I would recommend Preferred411. Since you're new to the hobby you can find providers on P411 who will see newbies. Once you have seen them, ask them for an "okay". Once you have 2 or 3 "okays" most ladies will accept that for their screening. Good luck and welcome to the hobby!

You could pay an entry fee! Contact a very established lady and explain your situation. Offer to meet her during an off time for her at a restaurant of her choosing for breakfast "on the clock." You will have to give up enough info to make her comfortable! If things go well she might help you!
