I'm traveling to the west coast next week for business, and am interested in getting someone for the first time ever.  I'm a little nervous about getting caught.  I don't know if my fears are unfounded or not.  I'll be staying at an upscale hotel, and was looking for an outcall, so I won't be driving around looking.  

I also know that I'd be compensating for time, not acts if I was ever asked.  Does that make it safer from a legal angle?

A few other questions I have:
1. Are sensual massages legal?
2. What is the best place/website to find someone?
3. Is Craigslist safe?
4. Do hotels know what's going on, will they investigate if they think an escort entered?

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

First of, never Craigslist for the first time.  Since you have till next week, get a VIP membership for a few dollars here and do a little research. Find a provider with at least 10 good reviews, and see ifthey take newbies. This is the only way to go to ensure a pleasant evening. EROS, Craigslist, Cityvibe, Backpage are all useful only with the help here of TER to see if these are legit, or scammers. ENJOY

You have not given yourself much time...  read the newbie manual...  like at the top.  Many of use use a separate disposeable phone so as not to leave tracks for family to find.  You should also use a separate free e-mail from personal accounts.
Agree Craigs List is notorious...  there may be legit providers there buit too many scams (plus LE actively cruises CL.
Massage is probably not legal unless the lady is a Licensed Massage Therapist.  In any case, it becomes illegal as soon as she touches your private areas.  

VIP is the best way to have a great time.  Use the search engine in the review section, for your destination location.  Just having reviews is not enough, you need to know the reviews are good & desired services are offered.  Several reviews are needed 8-10-12 say, and at least some by vetran reviewers with like number of reviews to their credit.

You'll probably need to contact a few to find one who will see you.  You should expect to have to give real name & some information so the lady can be assured of her safety.  Be honest that you are new.
