Hey everyone. I just set an appointment with a new provider. I am scheduled to see her in a few days. She has 4 reviews here and has a website and a profile on p411 (which is how I found her). She said the time is and day I suggested were good, so we're all set. She told me her rate for the hour while we were on the phone but didn't ask for any references. So, should this raise any flags? While I'm still new at this, I tend to stick with providers who have at least a page of reviews but in this case I thought, if she's on P411, she should be alright, no? Any help would be appreciated! i've seen a few ladies who have been reputable with a least a page of reviews here who didn't ask for references...by itself, not asking for references may not raise any red flags...
i think at least three reviews by people who have a good history of reviews (as the other poster mentioned) and a p411 ad are signs that most likely she is legit, but, as the other poster suggested, check the review history of the reviewers who reviewed her here...i'd also suggest googling her phone number and e-mail to make sure nothing suspicious pops up
as for why she didn't ask for references, who knows? - maybe she checked your p411 account since you need references to get an account in the first place....maybe she has good "spidey-senses" and you showed good manners and etiquette when contacting her that helped her figure out you were okay...who knows?
As a newer provider myself, (7 months) I can tell you that I made many "live and learn" mistakes when I started. I didn't know about this site or any other verification sites...I had a few wonderful clients that suggested I get reviews and about RS2K. I am very thankful for those that took a chance on me when I started (I use to think name, number and what you do for a living) as acceptable information. I now use RS2K and P411 as well as this site to screen...All Im saying is IF she's new to the "biz" Id say cut her the slack, trust your instincts and have a great time...then consider writing her a review" we all appreciate that!
many of the ladies, if you look under their Preferred411 listing at "Willing to Visit," it will say, "Basic Membership." That means your membership is basically your reference. Others will say "Basic Membership plus 1, meaning that you've seen and been approved by one other lady on Preferred411. Some will just say "Newbie Friendly." As far as the reviews, same as what has been said before, the number of reviews by her reviewers is more important than the overall number of her reviews.
Seriously, you have been around TER long enough to realize that, by and large, LE stings are set up to catch the low-hanging fruit. Have you ever read about a sting where LE has gone to the trouble of setting up anything more complicated than a CL or BP advertisement, let alone a provider website and P411 profile?
Check out the reviewers other reviews, or don't waste the providers' time.
