Etiquette in responding to providers

The first issue is weather or not we want to be contacted at all by a provider when she is in town.  I have no problem with it but many others do.  That issue aside ONE text or email is all that's really necessary. Any more than that is annoying and, quite frankly, makes the lady appear desperate.

I probably would have ignored the first one as you did and she definitely should have gotten the hint.

A few months ago there was a provider in town and I spent a few nights with. She came back into town and sent a text letting me know she would be in town for a week or so. I saw the text, and just deleted it as I dont really have much free time atm.

I left my phone off over the weekend and when I turned it on today/monday, she sent a few emails and left a voicemail asking if I remembered her. I've messaged her back telling her I dont really have the time.

I'm still fairly new to this, do providers want people responding to their 'im in town' msgs letting them know we're not interested/busy? I figured responses werent needed.

You mentioned that you are new to this, and this scenario will not be the first time it will happen. I ignore many texts messages and phone calls from providers. I use to answer them, and text them back--but it never did anything. They just kept on texting and calling, it got to the point that it started getting irritating and I was somewhat disappointed in their professionalism. It even got to the point where I felt obligated to seeing them, can you imagine that? I know, I shouldn't be obligated to see any provider if I don't want to see them (its ridiculous, I know, but I was a newb). So, what you did was correct, if you don't have the time, then ignore their responses or text, or text them to let them know that you don't have the time. If they repeated text you back, then ignore all future text, otherwise, its like a fly in your ear that you can't get rid off.

While there are guy who do not like this I have seen it happen often enough. Traveling ladies have extra expenses and like to be assured of enough revenue to make the trip successful. So if they have seen you for several nights you have shown more interest then the one time and gone client and she is trying to get your repeat money. She is treating you as a regular customer and letting you know you she will be available again.  Now as to the etiquette of the situation, If you probably will not want to repeat with her again, then ignore the messages she should get the hint and leave you alone. If you may want to see her again sometime in the future when she is in town and don't mind a text letting you know then I would have replied to the first text saying I can't see her this time but might some other time. If she persists after that response then I may review my desire to ever see her again.

Over board in fact.  This is why one must keep hobby phone & email separate.

See her when YOU want, not in response to pushy marketing.

If I were her I would have never done that. I would have sent out a mass email saying I will be in town on these dates. Thats IT .

I think what she did was very aggressive and too pushy.

...... dunno about several emails AND texts. I don't even save numbers unless asked.

Ms Mocha is correct.  This informaton should not be saved.  So she shouldn't be contacting you at all unless you tell her to do so.  Basically, if you want to hobby you have her info.  So there is no need for the woman to contact the guy.
