As someone who is not well-versed on the providers' trade, I found a blog from a provider that I think people may find interesting. People may find it helpful as they contemplate the nature of the enterprise they're getting involved in.  She offers a way to start thinking about the problems of this industry. It's a nice mix of thoughtful industry analysis, commentary on phenomena like the "end demand" movement, and  legislative updates on her home state.  Most interestingly she covers what "sex workers" are doing to clean up their industry, and advance their mutual interests.

You can read through her back log of posts in under half an hour.  She is succinct and does not go on ad nauseum like so many bloggers.

The problem will be that you'll want to join the fight. The difficult part will be convincing the SO that you're off to join the escorts, dancers and street walkers at their picket line out of a sense of solidarity, and without ulterior motive.
