Not such a dumb question.

perfectstorm is red because he is the new host of the Newbie board.  Mine is red because I used to be the host.  I don't know if admin is going to leave me red or change me to the same color as everyone else.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up and my handle was red!

J/K, I did know a little ahead of time but my handle has only been red since yesterday. As swim said it is because I am the new host of this board. Swim's handle is also red because he is the former host and had been for years. Prior to 2012, each board had moderators and their names were in red. There are no moderators now. The only other red handles you will occasionally see are official TER staff members with names like "DiscussionBoardAdmin," "TERAdmin," "TERSupport," etc.  
by the way, it wasn't a dumb question if you didn't know the answer.  

And be careful mentioning republicans! Your post may get moved to the Politics and Religion Board! ;)
