Really, how hard would it be for LE to find a reviewed provider here, fake a screening, and coerce her into a sting?  Does it seriously not happen?

At the most, it's a misdemeanor.  LE will not coerce a well reviewed provider into something like that just to snag a couple of her regular clients.  They are more likely to use CL, post an ad, and set it up that way.

If LE was to use a well reviewed provider the way you suggest, and you get popped, then you may as well give it up because God himself was out to get you.

LE is in the business of making the public safe. Thus, for the most part, they target unsafe practices such as the streetwalkers and interne-streetwalkers.

They will use a female undercover to get the guys who frequent those types and also an undercover client to get those types of providers.

They are not going to get too far into going through a big screening process to get a provider to snare a few guys. They can get more guys in one day the other way than a week with a snare.

Now I said all this as "for the most part", there may have been and there maybe times when LE try something like that, but it isn't going to be anywhere near a high enough percentage to prevent me from seeing a very well reviewed provider.

But just a little something to chew on...

LE is not interested in investing the time or expense involved in pursuing discreet providers who practice their trade behind closed doors and keep a low profile.
LE IS interested in the Street Walker scene primarily as it has much more of an effect on the general population. Also, Craig's List, which has become the street scene of the internet generation, is attracting a lot of heat right now.  Many of the ladies on CL use tactics that pretty much dare LE to go after them.

The only time I heard about an indie busted by LE was not due to coercion but rather by complaining neighbors. The reason for the complains were having idiot hobbyists knocking the wrong condo late at night, parked at unassigned parking space, and actually weren't so discreet about it when approached by unsuspecting neighbors.

NEVER MENTION SEX!!!!!!!!!! ON THE PHONE, EMAIL or MEETING.  Bring money, throw on dresser.  Wait for her to ask you to get comfortable.  Remove shirt, she should start stripping.  Then you should be OK.  Hard for LE to say you did anything at for this.

When the politicians need a few votes or need to look like they are actually doing something, that mission is sometimes hijacked.

That said, I agree with you and the rest of the posters. LE goes after the low hanging fruit. The scenario described by the OP is way too much effort for too little return for LE.

I recently started this hobby (July 07) and had similar fears. I decided to visit TER and Eros and see who was consistently posting--the reasoning being that LE would use the same ad or photos on the same site w/o someone sounding the warning. I also made it a point of dealing with indies since agencies sometimes get busted.

If you stick with these 2 sites, you can feret out the legit from the phonies--most are legit providers. I soon realized that providers here are pretty low profile and tend to be respectful neighbors where they live thus no one notices or is bothered. The only time to be concerned is if a provider has a doorman, in which case you ask the provider who to ask for when the doorman asks your busniness.

In the end LE is after the street walkers and the pedofiles--both are public nuiances.
