I've been away from the hobby for a few years and since I'm getting back into it I was just wondering about how to ask the donation . Should I ask when I book the appointment?

It's a red flag to the provider for you to ask before seeing her. Law enforcement asks those kinds of questions so she will likely cut off communication if you mention money. Yes, some ladies are OK with asking donation as long as you don't mention sex acts as well but many don't and you won't know until it's to late.

Be sure to check her ads, website, and TER profile (if she has one) for donation information. If it's not posted anywhere then you have to assume she is OK with the question so you can ask what is her donation for an hour (or any time frame) of her time. If y have to do this I'd wait until you've passed screening. I know you may not want to take the time for screening if she is more than you are willing to pay but some ladies will be more forth coming if you show you're serious by doing the screening first.  

If this lady doesn't have a site and doesn't have reviews and no donation listed you may want to reconsider. Just getting back into this Newbie advice is useful here. See well reviewed ladies with information you can easily verify.

It is SOP for LE to ask about money to ensure they make a clean bust.

So, see only gals whose rates are made very clear on their sites or ads.  In the case of a contradiction, you can ask her which ad or site is accurate with regard to her donation, but don't go any further than that

It is not ok to ask about money and sexual service. It is ok to ask "What is your rate for an hour?" However this should only be used if rates aren't listed anywhere. Most legit providers will have their rates on their websites, ads, etc. If you ask about rates when the lady clearly has them spelled out on her site, prepare to be ignored and put on a DNS list.

Usually it would be in the ad, or on her site... or both.  

If there's a special reason you need to ask - i.e. the rates on her site are specifically listed as NYC rates, but she's touring Baltimore - then make it clear that you have already read her site and ads, but were not able to locate the pertinent information. That way, she knows you're serious...

If someone asks about rates, I personally don't assume that he is LE. I assume he's either not serious, or wants to haggle. Even if a guy finds me, say, through a casual mention on a discussion forum, he should be able to find my rates with a very minimal amount of googling. So, if a guy asks me 'How much?' I think either 1) He's too lazy to find/read my site, and therefore not serious, or 2) He has read it, but wants to initiate a conversation like, 'Oh, it's $800? I thought $150.'

Either way, as soon as I hear 'How much' I basically assume that a meeting won't happen.

If she's not posting rates anywhere, that's really unusual and (in my opinion) unprofessional.

It will say inquire.  Be sure to look before asking.  One must NEVER mention any services.
