I am wondering where would you work? Also would you have the option within the verification element of you website where you give potential clients the option to be verified through p411? Also would you know any current providers, who have accounts on the verification site to screen for you?
After that is done, then a client can vouch for you
and you can be on the way to membership. Also call the toll free number, they can give you further and specific instructions for that as well.

I suggest you contact the sites and find our exactly what their requirements are for providers.  I have to confess, I do not know.

Also suggest that if you have not read the self help center on this page, do it soon.  It will tell you lots.  If you have other questions, you can either post them on this forum, or PM me if you want to keep it private, I am the host of the newbie board.

Thanks for the replies. I plan in advertising on here and my own website which I am working on. The problem is I do not know any other providers and none of my existing clients are members of either of these sites.

but remember this is a public forum & LE & creeps can read it too.  There are some things which should not be discussed in a public forum.  In the past, new providers have had experienced providers volunteer to mentor their screening.  All done by PM or email or maybe phone, of course.  

Providers in your local area are more likely to view you as competition & the claws can come out or even dirty tricks.  So the long distance mentoring has much to recommend it.    

Keep in mind that there is no one formula to screening.  Every gal develops her own system.  I will suggest that you need multiple approaches to screening.  There are new hobbiests & the retired & self employed who can not provide certain information...  but can & should be willing to provide enough information to satisfy your need for security.  **  Just because a hobbiest claims to be new...  is not a guarantee of your safety.  There are a few cases where a bad person makes such claims to duck their bad reputation.  Undoubtedly a tiny minority but reflects badly on the rest of us.
Hobbists with referances or employment or both have different information available to offer.

They check reviews and the last few people you've seen. They don't rely on membership to verification sites, they seem to prefer to do all the work themselves. She could meet other providers and build some trust and after presenting her conundrum, maybe get someone to invite her to the site.
