from an LE avoidance perspective, seeing a provider in her apartment or semi-permanent location in a residential area or seing a provider in a hotel.  It looks to me like there could be more danger from a nosey neighbor than from sliding in and out of a hotel.

It is a very interesting question.  I have no first hand info, but I have seen numerous episodes of the TV show COPS.  The easiest most common sting is they have a street walker lure a guy back to a motel room and the cops are 1 or 2 rooms away with audio video etc etc, and the cops pounce ASAP.  And I think that illustrates a point, which is, that it is very easy for the cops to control 2 motel rooms, all they have to do is rent 2 rooms.   I think it becomes more difficult for the cops to operate among private residences when all of a sudden the cops have to deal with issues like probable cause, warrants, various old Amendments to an even older Document, etc etc.  Just dos centavos from a newb who wathces too much TV and is just learning, and would welcome input from the older and wiser . . . um er um ah ah er ah . . . wiser and more experienced practioners of the hobby, and thanks to cedar2221 for posing an interesting question sure to lead to much discussion.

I would think that the hotel/motels have a bigger chance for problems.

#1- Staff members- they pay attention to who's coming and going and if they see alot of different people coming in and out then they have to report it. If they don't report it and LE comes and finds something, THEY can actually get ticketed and fined because they are resposible for who they rent to. (My buddies family owned a hotel and they got fined because LE found a provider was using a room there)

#2-  Internet connections that are provided by hotel run through their server, and just like having parental lockouts at home, their server that your connecting through has "RED FLAG" sites, like TER, and other escort sites that I wont mention because of TER boards policy.  You or the provider is surfing those sites, they know about it because it's linked to YOUR room!! And they will pay close attention to who's coming and going after you did your web search. Again because they don't wanna get fined for not reporting if LE comes a knocking.  (This info from provider who also is a computer programmer, and anyone who know computers know's how easy it is to set a server to alert when sites are accesed through their system)

#3-  Hotel/motels are public property, any joe schmoe LE can just sit in the parking lot especially if the rooms have outside access and just watch. They see a ladie out having a smoke or something then a guy comes by and they go in for say a half hour, then a little while latter a different guy comes by and he stays for about a half hour, see where this is going, it's not rocket science, plus the cops know which places to watch from experience. ( And laziness, as most people here know, they'd rather go after the minority of people who just wanna have some fun instead of going after the violent and dangerous criminals like murderers, drug dealers and rapists..sorry, last bit was a little off topic!!)

But that's just my opinion, and I'm a newb and probably don't know what I'm talking about!! LOL

Before the thunder comes down on you Alex!!!   DO NOT!!!  confuse escorts with "street walkers".  Especially the majority that are on here.  I have never seen an AD for one of these ladies saying "I'll be on the corner of State St. and Madison Ave. if you wanna get busy!!"  I really don't want to offend but I'm not the greatest writer. If I do, hopefully the moderator will make it more PC.  Street walkers are the lowest of the low, they are the cliched "crack whore's", the $10 BJ and $20 whoopie, rarely if ever using protection. They are the ones that LE should be going after, they are the people who have hit the rock bottom and have no place else to go and really need the help to get staightened up. I know this reply is a little off subject, but I wrote an in depth one that is totally on the subject.

The absolute best way to lower your LE risk is to stick to ladies with plenty of positive reviews by established reviewers with lots of reviews. There is not better or worse type of location in general. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages.

Dear Mr. Chicagospliff:

Thank you for the advice and for the clarification.  And my apologies to anyone I offended.  I certainly did not mean to put SWs and escorts in the same category.  If I had taken some time to proof read my post for clarity I hope I would have caught and fixed my mistake.  Lesson learned.  I will write with more care in the future so as not to insert foot into mouth.

Sincerely,
A.H.

I don't deny #2 at all, but isn't that illegal as hell? Don't we have privacy laws?

The first thing you should always do when entering a room whether you are a client or an escort is to check.  Check first for an adjoining room.  9 times out of 10 LE will be on the other side if there is an adjoining door.  If I enter a hotel room of a client and see one, I leave.  WITHOUT discussing any biz.  Also there should never be an actual exchange of currency.  It should be left where the provider can see it but never handed to her.  Remember LE has to have a case which means they have to have certain aspects be irrefutable.  In other words you have to say or do something illegal.  As far as a hotel room there is something called "expectation of privacy".   You or the provider has an expectation of privacy.  If there are going to censer your web access they HAVE to info you or you can sue for violation of the expectation of privacy.   That isn't to say that a hotel is by any means safer or not.  I have found that when in doubt my instincts are my best asset.  When in doubt leave, without doing anything dumb.

When you log into a hotel's internet you are using there server. Somewhere-someplace, there is a small print disclaimer somewhere in the hotel, probably in the janitors closet or back room, in small print that is a disclaimer about use for any possibly "illeagal" activities. Because you agree to this by logging in, you are agreeing to play by their rules. You are on their private server and anyplace you go is logged into history and for the most part is now public information. No different then workplaces saying you can't visit sites that aren't work related, if they see you have they can reprimand or terminate you. Just like if your home and do alot of searches on making bombs or something like that, that info is available on your internet providers servers, and you'll eventually get a knock on the door from somebody under Uncle Sam's employment!!

Privacy is an illusion!!!  Remember this is the 21 century! Recorded cameras are everywhere and are available to any LE. You have redlight cameras, ATM cameras, traffic control cameras, police cameras to watch for crime in high population areas, just about any building has security cameras in it, cameras not only in LE cars, but they are/can be in fire department vehicles, sanitation vehicles, ambulances, inspection vehicles, plus just about everyone has a camera on their phone!  Here in chicago you walk ONE block (300 ft) downtown and you are captured on at least  20 cameras. Police don't stop crime, they take the report AFTER the crime has been commited, so busineses and residents have security cameras looking outside so they know who is coming and going. And that is just a little on cameras, that doesn't even get into EMAILS, TELEPHONE,MAIL. You don't get "random" offers through these ways. They know what sites you go to, it called  tergeted advertising, and its all info gatherdabout you. Still think you have privacy???
The only way to ensure your privacy is to board up your house lock the doors and unplug from every kind of comunication and never come out!!! ROFLMAO!!!

search TER of an escort's web site.  What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is up to them.

don't be crazy its always down to your word against theirs in the end if you get all the way into the room and its a sting you WILL be arrested and you will go to jail. Prevention is 99.9% secure. Read reviews research the Lady if she is on target with her verification and is thorough you have nothing to worry about.
I know this seems like a covert operation at first but its really very simple.
