How does one get provider references when they have no provider references?

There was mention (elsewhere) of joining "Date Check" or "Preferred411" as an alternative - I have no problems providing my full name, information pertaining to my drivers license or even the last 4 of my sowsh - however, there's no way I would be able to provide employment verification since I work as a contractor.

If not everything can be verified by those sites, DC and P411 make no guarantee of membership, even if the member pays - so I guess the question is, where does one go from there if those sites fall through? SOL?

Also, is a cell phone MANDATORY to be a hobbyist? Per research, most providers use the "2 call system" which would obviously require one. That's something I could remedy, but the lack of references (provider, employment, etc) is not.

for screening. I'm retired and self-employed and have never passed to pass screening. Call or email, explain your situation and see what can be worked out.

Here are a few options:

A) You may have some luck through an agency as some of them have methods of verifying hobbyists that providers do not have access to.

B) You may find a lady who will see you.  Even as an independent contractor, there may be some info available to confirm you are who you say you are.

C) Unless you wish to host, a hobby phone is a must.  Ladies use the two call system for their protection.  As such, unless you plan to find a pay phone to make the second call from (which may not be acceptable to the provider), you probably won't get the final info.

D) Once you do see a lady, ask her to reference you.

I have a similar situation and just had to go slow and meet provider before anything could be worked out. The checking is for everyone's benefit.

I agree with ScarlettKiss.. we providers have ways to screen you our way..  have a good weekend.
