I am a newbie and will be in vegas soon. I have been searching TER quite a lot.  Wondered from more experienced hobbiest, TER reviewed provider vs girl at Sheri's or Chicken ranch  concerning safety, risk of std, LE risks, and likely costs.  Thanks for the info.

This will get more mileage on the LV board, but here's my take.  The brothel experience is something to behold, but it's expensive and an hour drive.  The "free limo ride" will cost you in terms of higher prices (less wiggle room with her rates), but you'll get to see her in person and pick from numerous choices.  Sheri's  is the better option of the 2 in terms of attractive girls.  If you're uncomfortable picking a date from a lineup, they have a bar, and the girls mingle through.  A couple drinks is plenty of time to find someone that stikes your fancy.  As far as safety, risk of std and LE, this route is almost bulletproof.

The flip side is that there are PLENTY of reliable independents that are well reviewed in LV.  The prices will be roughly half of ranch pricing, but you have to do homework.  The risks are higher, but still quite low.  Just stay away from agencies and the cards handed out on the curb.

Do they really just hand out cards on the curb out there??

Not only on the curb...but in your cab too.   Buddy of mine and I flew to Vegas, catch a cab to the Rio, and the cabby hands us three cards of girls offering "company"....

First, Vegas has more LE activity than many Cities (*depending on the time of year and what events are happening on the strip*) ….. next, LE also “LOVES” women who cross state lines specifically for participation in the hobby: also known as Prostitution.

If you are contemplating working out of the Vegas area, where it is legal...… Then consider the fact that you have to be “registered” and you will be listed as a prostitute in National data bases...… when you do de-activate your registration, it is still active for several years later (*thus limiting your potential to hold just about any professional license*)....…  Just a few things to consider when thinking about Vegas-

YES!!! Not only on the curb, but all up and down the ENTIRE strip. They flip them on their hand so it makes a sound and you look over, then, before you know it, YOU'VE GOT PORN!! I went there with my friend and came back with hand loads of naked girl magazines and fliers because I just kept looking at them when they flipped that damn paper!!!Why did I bring it home, ummm, I'm from a small town and I thought it was..cool

After years in this hobby, as a general rule stick with the independent ladies who are well reviewed on TER and other boards.  The brothels are considered legal, but the cost is much higher in money and time getting there.  Just my 2c

Agreed. I know of at least one great independent lady who relocated to Vegas from Boston a couple of years ago. Her reviews are stellar and you can see her for two or three hours for the same price that you would pay at a legal brothel for one hour.

I visited Sherri's and the Chicken Ranch and a couple others last fall to see if it was a better arrangement.  There are other girls on TER that actually worked at the ranches, but the fact is you will pay twice as much at a brothel as for an indie.  

But, since you are a newbie, you may wish to take the safe way your first time.  At the brothel, you will not have to worry about LE, getting ripped off, or catching STD's as everything is covered and girls are tested every two weeks.

PS Sherri's has better looking girls (IMHO), but the action at the Chicken Ranch seemed much more layed back and fun as the girls were playing strip pool while I visited and seem to truly enjoy some body shots on the pool table.

I agree with what's been said here.

I've been to the brothels and it's no big deal to go there except if you have a lot of time and money.

Besides it being more expensive to go to a legal brothel, it is very safe but the girls (for the most part) are very mercenarial-
It's all about:
"show me da money"
I managed to hook up with one very sweet girl but that was after chatting with over a dozen girls.

If you're just into the visuals, there are MANY stunning girls that work at brothels. But for the most part, any of the really hot girls skate by on their looks, more than service they'd offer.
Girls now that most guys don't live locally so if they give you lousy service and poor attitude, so what-you won't be back anytime soon and there will be another sucker that will take them for an hour of disappointment....

I don't know about the LV-local scene, but I've done Pahrump (Sherri's).  It was WAY TOO expensive and it is ALL about trying to get as much money out of you as possible.  They won't talk about rates until they get you in their room and by that time you are thinking with the wrong head.  Been there, done that and won't be back.  I'll stick with the wonderful local, well-reviewed providers in my area.
