So it's just dumb asses like me that had to do a google search when I first came on here lol...I think the rationale is so that you know that you have seen the whole message without having to open the whole thread....I think....probably way off on that so hopefully someone will provide a second opinion lol

It means there is no message in the text box below, so there is no reason to click on the post to open it. With the new TER, since you can see the entire thread when you click on the OP, it does make less sense to say EOM now, but old habits die hard. In old TER you had to open a post to read it. "EOM" saved people from opening empty posts.
