...get the VIP membership so you can check them out thoroughly. Only see well reviewed providers whose reviewers have reviewed many providers. If you find a provider on another ad site check her out here. If she has no presence here, pass her by. Read the Self-Help Center, upper right of the discussion board under the red & white life preserver. Read all of it. Read back on discussions here on the newbie board.

If you want to be "devil may care", and take one for the team, then know that you run a higher risk of getting taken than if you play by the rules and see only well reviewed providers.

LE, while a significant risk, is not that great a risk in term of the odds of the situation.  For years before there was a TER, I saw over a hundred gals and never once came close to LE.

On the other hand, I did find a lot of lulus whom I wish I had never met.

As you are just starting out, you should not be taking one for the team until you have had some years and dozens of encounters to hone your senses.

But, whatever floats your boat.  I understand the concept of danger being seductive myself.

choose to not be reviewed, so my personal opinion would be don't pass them by just because they don't have a high presence here. There are many UTR ladies who are fabulous and you would never be 'taken'. It's just on a different level and in a different way. There is risk with anything in life. However, if you listen to your basic gut instinct and the 'connection' is there from first contact with her, then you've answered your question. As with anything in life, you can talk yourself 'out' of anything. So I would reach out to a few ladies who 'you' find fit what 'you' are looking for (no one else) At the end of the day, doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, now does it? If it feels right, go with it. Simple enough.

strangers to help you choose to buy the car of your dreams, simply based on their own interpretation of that car written in a few personally biased reviews? And without test driving it yourself first?

Likewise nearby in NJ; plus lots of established ladies tour the NYC area. Try to avoid BP and Eros as your risk for scams is greater there. Also search p411 and/or datecheck (you should be a member of at least one) for verified providers in your area.

why does he have to stick with well-reviewed providers? Because the gentlemen who live for reviews and only select by reviews tell him to on here? Sorry, I disagree on all fronts.  

breaking into the UTR scene without any hobby history will be challenging.  Usually you have to know a provider who trusts you and  has a UTR friend she'll recommend. Sometimes a fellow hobbyist who knows you and trusts you will recommend a UTR. Also agencies rep UTRs  however agencies  will only arrange a date with a highly trusted existing client. Have you noticed I used the word TRUST a lot. Trust is very important in the hobby world, it isn't automatic.  It takes time to build trust within the hobby community.

filter it through the post by hiddenhills. If you don't have a presence/reputation seeing a UTR provider will be difficult. Ask Amber if she is willing to recommend you to one of her UTR friends. Will she see you?

...however it's hard to get started with UTR's when you are a newbie with no presence/reputation anywhere. It would be useful if you explained how he could go about making an arrangement with a provider as you suggest.

...Amber mentioned P411 in a thread below. It is a verification site that hobbyists & providers belong too. Check it out. It provides references for you and lets you know the lady is legit. I should have mentioned it in my original reply to you. Do a search to get more info about it.

Since he is a relative "newbie" it is safer him to see an established provider rather than toftt.  
Personally, the only use I have for reviews is for my safety. I don't even read them anymore. They just help assure me that the lady is not a rip-off or worse. People who know me know that I don't care about the content, the acronyms,etc. I don't come with any expectations, rather I want to see how the lady and I connect on our date.
Likewise, the only reason I wrote a few reviews is to assure potential dates that I am legitimate, too

with well reviewed providers. That is SOUND advice.

First of all, your chances of being burned by a well reviewed provider are small. If you go in taking risks from the onset, you will have a much higher chance of getting burned.

Choosing a well reviewed provider will also save you from questions about services. You will find plenty of EROS ads that say they are GFE, but are not. You will also save yourself from bait and switch and there are also plenty of those on EROS.

I would wait for a minimum of 3 reviews and with reviewers with track records.

TOFTT when you get some experience in your favor. Stay away from providers with no reviews. You will be taking unnecessary risks by doing so. Don't listen to providers with no reviews. Many of them don't have reviews for a reason.

any chance of a B & S, ROB, C & D, etc. situation from occuring. Once a guy "gets his feet wet", then he can venture into seeing UTR ladies or new providers.

I think you're just a bit biased being you have NO REVIEWS HERE. Sorry, but the advice that newbies should stick with well reviewed ladies will continue to be expressed here, because it is the SAFEST option for them.

My advice to any newbie is to take it slow and deal with some well reviewed providers at first.  Give your self about one year to get used to the whole scene.  Once you have about four or five that you like, stick with them on some type of rotational system.   It is much safer and actually leads to what I would categorize as business friendships.  Those type of friendships can lead to introductions to UTR ladies later on.  If you try to take chances to early you will get burned with bad dates and even worse, LE.   Like anything, you have to crawl before you can walk.
