I'm a touring provider, but the only city on your list which I have toured is Pittsburgh, and not in a long time.  

BUT.... when I'm considering a new destination, I research the local Regional Board here on TER.  Use the Search function to find previous threads about where to stay, areas to avoid, etc.  

I personally haven't used it much (yet) but also check out the Travel Board for relevant discussions.  

You may also want to check out SafeOffice which has travel/touring resources specifically for providers.

seven days on your regional ad board, how and when to post an ad if you tour, posting on the Photo Board, etc.

You should also visit your regional board and post once in a while so guys (and ladies) can get to know about you.
