How to figure out if someone is blacklisted?

Even when googling certain clients emails it won't show up... Should I join the Nb site?  
Are there any other good sites?  
What's the secret?!

don't use blacklist websites!

ask for references from the guys and make those phone calls to verify the guys.  
Do not depend on blacklist websites because of too much lying and bullshit that goes on those websites.

I still require references but....

When one of those references tell you he was blacklisted, and gives negative feedback while the other reference gives positive feedback.  
being able to see what he was exactly blacklisted for never hurts in those type of situations
