I'm a big time newbie, so please don't laugh at my questions :))).

1. I'm not even 100% sure if outcalls are legal in Canada. Let alone incalls. I see so many escort agencies providing outcalls and incalls. So may be they are both legal afterall?!

So can anyone verify whether incalls are legal in Canada? And what about outcalls?

2. How does screening work? Let's say we give our phone number to a provider; how would she screen us?

I doubt prostitution is legal in Canada....so your answer is both NO...incalls and outcalls are illegal.(unless Canada is that cool!)

Screening usually works by running your name and phone number and seeing if they get the result of the information you provided. Although they should screen more carefully than that.(hobby phones come back to no one) Agencies don't always do the best as they have 20+girls for meets and they can afford to lose 1 to LE.

I check for provider references as well as links to reviews you have written. If you have none then you have to show me a legal current state driver's license(but this is in the USA mind you)

as it is in most western societies, unlike in this country outside of a few counties in Nevada.

Nevertheless, my understanding is that a provider may see clients on an outcall basis.  I know that brothels as such are illegal, as is streetwalking.

Whether a gal can rent a hotel room or see clients at her apartment is a bit less clear, but very commonly done and if there is a Canadian legal expert out there who would like to weigh in with information I'd be obliged.

(still not a Canadian, eh?)

Thanks for the replies people!

It's such a grey area...

But look, I found this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Canada

Here's a quote from that page:

"In Canada, the buying and selling of sexual services are not illegal, but most surrounding activities, such as public communication for the purpose of prostitution, brothels and procuring are outlawed.

While the prohibition of the activities surrounding the sex trade makes it difficult to practice prostitution without breaking any law, the act of exchanging sex for money has never been illegal in Canada, a situation which has created and continues to create confusion and controversy."

MrFisher is correct... sex for pay is legal in Canada.. it was the "not holding a house of prostitution... living off the wages off a sex worker(including yourself), etc that was the problem.. UNTIL RECENTLY!!

And in certain places, even before they just passed this new law.. hotels would commonly rent rooms by the hr, had no problem giving the girls sheets to change the beds after every appointment, supplying extra towels, etc. I'll try to find that article & post it also.
