.... someones email address on here after they have ripped you off...he was not from this site, but he said he knew about the site...after opening the envelope I discovered that 4 of the twentys were fake and had no backs to them...

I didnt want to post and then get in trouble for it but would like to give people a warning about the guy so it doesnt happen to them...

There are several national DNS Boards that gals use to warn each other of violent and/or rip off artists such as you saw.

You should definately post the info there.

Anything you post here will be gone in a matter of days whereas the other boards are much more organized that way.

So sorry this happened to you.  Did he give references?  If so, you should definately contact them so they will no longer give him an OK.

There are still a lot of knuckleheads that use their real names in their emails, and a Google search can sometimes reveal personal information.

You will need to deal with your problems outside of the boards. What you share in private mails is up to you, but posting any personal information is not allowed.

Doing so can and will result in banning from that board. All info must be done backchannel. No exceptions.

I will look up the other sites... I was not out to get any sort of revenge or anything. Honestly oh well its his loss, he just wont be able to come back to me...lol!

I just wanted to protect another newbie from getting ripped off by him.

What is it about personal information that is so difficult for you?

A provider's email is not the same as a hobbyist's email. Don't you see the difference?

I know this is the newbie board, but come on! Don't give bad advice. Stick with the GD board where stupidity is acceptable.

I suspect posting a rip off guy's e-mail on the provider's only section is completely acceptable.    You are completely guessing that his e-mail might be his real name.  Unless she has proof that he is an idiot as well as a thief I would post it and assume his e-mail name is not his real name.  Anyone who premeditatedly robs someone needs to be warned against and should lose the benefit of the doubt that he is also stupid enough to use his real name.

I certainly do not know the rules on the providers board but that sounds increadibly useless.  So every time a provider has an alert to post she has to be floded with PMs asking for the specifics?  Wow.  That is amazingly inefficient.  Yet guys scream for a provider's handle to be posted in the open here?

Again, that may be the rules, but in this case the rule seems dumb.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is posting someones personal information allowed on TER, I don't care if he is wanted for murder. This is a firm policy enforced by all mods on all boards.

I say this as a TER moderator, DO NOT DO THIS!!! It will result in you getting kicked off the board, and shame on any long term member giving out this kind of bad, and dangerous advice. Yes Old Traveler and mrfisher, I mean you!!!

Posting personal information of members or provider, including content copied from their emails and Private Messages, is grounds for BANISHMENT.

and most likely kept you from inadverntantly getting thrown off the board.

You might consdider putting a warning up on your regional board, without his email address of course, but with an invitation for other providers to PM or email you for specifics.

Sorry this happened to you, and kudos to you for looking out for your fellow providers. Sharing information, both good and bad is what TER is all about, but there are certain rules and regulations you must follow to do so.

And if you came to this board more than once a year you'd know I'm a fairly frequent poster here and always play by the "make nice" rules.  This is the board where I started my nefarious career and I do try to "give back" by helping newcomers the way I was helped.  Knowing the "real you" as I do it was just funny as hell to see this "kinder, gentler" version of GaGa, so I had to twist your tail.  Now, go drink some vodka and send the real GaGa back to the P&R board.  This pussy-assed version would be fish food over there.  Of course, the same goes for my "kind and gentle" newbie board personna.  LOL!
