Can it be as simple as that? Re: Being moderated?

Are all your posts be moderated? You can use Contact Us and request to be unmoderated. Then most of your posts would go live immediately. There is a random moderation that hits all of us from time to time but it's usually only one post.  
   
Someone (moderator) has to read and approve a held post so how long it takes is however long that takes.  
   
I was never placed on moderation before the US was cut off from TER except for the initial moderation that every new member goes through. When it came back all my posts were being held. I contacted admin and requested to be unmoderated. They said OK. I'm still caught by the random moderation from time to time.
I wonder what criteria TER management/admin would use to determine which members get granted the opportunity to go unmoderated? If it's simply a question of asking for it and they agree, it begs the further question of the necessity for moderation in the first place. If on the other hand there is a procedure they go through to decide who can go without moderation, what might it be? Hmmmmmm.

As best as I can tell -- because it's what I was told via the buzz on the boards, not by Admin -- new posters have to produce a record of making reasonable posts, not breaking any rules, and stuff like that. E.g., posting the names of other review sites is a no-no. Posting the names of private individuals (cf., celebrities and politicians) is a no-no. I don't think that there is a minimum time frame (1 week of posting vs 1 month of posting) or number of posts (30 posts in two days vs 30 posts in 30 days).

I _do_ think that if someone asks to be unmoderated that someone at TER actually does look at their recent posting history to make a determination.
