i am wondering when you are being screened what does the service or provider say when calling your work
I'm a little nervous about that i just got a nice job with a large company and i don't want to mess it up i am also not sure if they record calls because i work for a company that does work with lawyers and doctors

..."This is Doctor SoAndSo's office calling to leave a message for Joey BagaDonuts remind him about his appointment next Tuesday."  If they take the message it confirms you work there.  There must be a milliion verions of this.

Theoretically, you would give her a scenario that would be safe and she'd comply.  She could pose as your dentist's/doctor's/other professional's receptionist confirming an appointment, she could be calling from your repair shop regarding your next tune up, or she could simply be an old high school/college buddy checking in on you or inviting you to a surprise birthday party for your frat mate.  The cover story is whatever works best for you and the conversation likely needn't be long or of a compromising nature - she just needs to verify you work where you say you do! ;-)  Good luck!

She called the work number of my department that I gave her and asked for me.  I talked to her and confirmed the appointment that we had.

That was it.  Keep it simple.

my voice to verify I worked there.  Afterall, if you knew a guy named Joe who worked for company X, you could use Joe's name and be verified because he does work there.

How do they handle the automated phone systems.  Anyone calls my company, they'll be pressing this number and that number, but good luck ever talking to a human....unless they have my direct extension.

The only times I have been called at work were short just to make sure I was at a company number. They also immediately asked if I preferred they then call back at another number for the detailed discussion.
