I often see "the usual 2-call system" referred to in reviews but in spite of different searching approaches, I can't come up with any explanation in the newbie files or this board.  I know it's had to be explained before but I'm not having any luck at all in finding it.  Can someone please help?

you call to get general area of incall or name of hotel.  Call two, when you get to hotel you call for the room number, or in the general area of incall to get exact address and maybe directions.

Sometimes you call once to set up appointment, second call when you get there and she'll direct you to general area, third call when you get there, forth call to get room number. Sometimes, a fifth and sixth call may be relevant. For example, some providers will ask you to call them when you get off the elevator and direct you where to walk. I just had a 4 call system tonight with this one provider, and it was worth it.

The call system will vary. I don't know if I'm making too much sense, but I thought it would be useful to know that the call system will vary, but has similar results. Take care, and enjoy the HoHoHo's for Christmas.

2.) You call again when you arrive at the incall to get her hotel room number or apartment number.

First you book, not necessarily by phone.  I could be by e-mail, on her site, through a screening service.  So call #1 is to get a general location or name of hotel.  Call #2 is from that location; a street corner or hotel lobby, for the apt. # or hotel room #.

Yeah, I've heard some guys describe that process before, but it seems odd. Do you really drive to a "general location" without knowing the address of the hotel or apartment complex?

Maybe I just come across like a trustworthy guy, but no lady has ever asked me to do that. I always know what hotel I am going to, or what apartment complex, before I get in the car.

I think we've mis-communicated.  If it's a hotel I always know the name before I get in the car.  That's the first "call," although sometimes I get that info in an e-mail.  The second call is made from the lobby.  If it's not a hotel, but her incall apt., the first call gives me a location like "the corner of Third Avenue and 65th St."  I park nearby, walk to the street corner and call her for the address and apt. #.
So, sometimes, it's a "one call" system but it's always two steps.

Just another variation of what others have already said.  Call #1 might be to make an appt a few hours in advance and you get a general location (intersection ["Main St x Center St"], hotel, landmark).  They don't want to give away too much info to a possible no-show.

Once you arrive, you make call #2 and they might ask you to go to a nearby spot ("go to phone booth half way down the block and call again") where they can see you from their window or balcony ... for their safety and comfort.  And to know that you are actually there or nearby and ON TIME.

Call #3 is, "OK, I'm at the booth. Now what?" and you get further or final instructions ("You look OK but you are early.  We are across the street. Call back in 15 minutes for house number and bell number." or "Go to #25, ring bell 3H." or "Room 1234.").

alot times we like to see u actually show. then give room number or apt number or me i like to meet them outside n bring back sometimes i even willmeet not where i am to feel out persons vibe before bringn back- {i am very psychic!} lol-   but reason i do two call sytem is its freaky when alot guys call n want addy location. ect then dont come n show for the appt then u r freakd out known some one u hav no clue who it was, knows u r there now, n u start thinkn what they r up too.

can vary a little between providers and locations used, however, in general it has nothing to do with the actual booking process.

It's a safety procedure to make sure our location is not public knowledge, (hence why many many times you are just given cross roads initially) as well to make sure you are not LE or if you are LE you don't have hours or days to set up a whole sting operation. As well we might want to see you arrive alone, etc. which is why on the second call you may now have the name of the location but not the room number. Lastly, we may chose to meet you (depending on the layout of the venue) by an elevator or stairwell, etc. in case we decide while walking you to our room that we just aren't comfortable enough to let you know which room, apt, etc. is ours.

Like I said there are many variations but the above are pretty common.
