My question is, do I need to and if so, how do I fix it?
Before knowing everything that I know now, I used my board id as my email name, and I gave a provider or two my ter board name. Which I now know was not the way to do it. I no longer give my ter id out to providers. I suppose I should switch to a new email address too so there's no connection?

If you have an SO, you should not use your personal email address for hobby dealings. You should have a hobby email and phone. If you don't have to hide things from anyone, like me, I would not worry about it too much. You didn't really elaborate on the situation, so it's kinda hard to say more.

I always give my handle so it's no biggie to me. I'd rather they know my handle than my real name.
Likewise, your email addy with the handle isn't a big deal either unless your S.O. finds it and wants to know why you're using the name "JoeBlow."
I'll leave it to the others to tell you why they don't give out their handles. Maybe they give bad reviews which, although they may be honest, would get them turned down. Or maybe they're assholes on the boards.
straight and narrow 100% of the time, the feeling of being sneaky gets them off, etc.. Either way, ill-intentions seems likely so I pass on the ill-willed game players (ohh ad handles like Fidel Castro get tossed too), always!
she will know who you may have seen if you write reviews. As KK said, as long as you see well-reviewed ladies and act appropriately, I don't see why you should not tell her your ID. It might help her screen you as wel, esp if you have whitelist referralsl. I know a lot of guys do not give out their handles, but if you are going to do a review of her, why not? If you act like a jerk towards her, I can see where you might be reluctant to disclose your handle, hopefully that is not your case.
