I don't seem to be able to make an appointment with a provider. I live in one of those dreaded "Other Cities" where there are not many providers. Finally found one that looked good and offered the services that I wanted. Went to her website, and on the contact page was her email, contact form, and phone number for previous clients. I decided to contact her by email. Sent the email stating (politely) that I wanted to make an appointment, and asked whether she was newbie friendly. No response. After a couple of days, went back to her contact page, and filled out the contact form- maybe the email got lost in the mail.
The following morning, the following response was in my INBOX.
"Thank you for the interest. The best screening information is references from two providers that you have seen recently. I would need their names, a way to contact them and something that would remind them of you. If you don't have any references, your work information would suffice. Keep in mind that I am not interested in who you are, but in who you are not."
Perfectly reasonable for her to make sure I was not LE or a psychopathic serial killer. Is it an automated response or human driven- I don't know, but I clicked on REPLY, and gave her the contact information for a visiting provider I had recently seen (mentioning my TER review of the encounter), and the name, website, and email of an out-of-town provider I had seen on a business trip. After 2-3 days of no response (and yes, I checked my SPAM folder), I went back to the contact form on her website, and pasted the same information I had put into the reply email (maybe the form, but not the email, goes through). I have not had any response.
In my mind, the possibilities are:
1) She never got the reply email or the information in the form.
2) She got the provider information, but for whatever reason did not get any responses from the references.
3) She contacted the references, who said to avoid this guy with a 10-ft pole.
If it is #1, should I call on the phone number provided, even though she requested it only be for previous clients?
If it is #2, why did she not write back, asking for work information?
I certainly hope it is not #3.
This is not the only provider whom I have had problems contacting for an appointment. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise.
(I apologize for being long-winded.)
