I'm a newbie to this and curious if, as a whole, is one favored over the other - agency over independents? or is it more provider driven?

Agencies... they see 5-8 men a day.
Indies- we pick and choose- One a day- we arent burnt out... fresh and all natural`

It seems that independents are preferred over agencies.  

I hear about more scams and upselling involved with agencies than independents.  

Also independents are not dividing their money with others and are creating their own schedules which means that they're probably happier and a happy lady equals a happy gentleman.

So you provide 100% of my daily requierments of sex ????

Some agency ladies are good, some bad. Same goes for Indies. If you use review information to make your choice the possibility of making a bad one drops dramatically.

I only use agencies, and will not go near independents.  When I was first starting out in the hobby, my experiences with indies were nothing short of horrible: one never called back, one cancelled on me at the last minute, and one actually gave me fake directions (I wound up at a Middle Eastern supermarket of some sorts).

Agencies (used twice), on the other hand, were really nice.  The operator was very polite and easy to work with, made sure my appointment worked out, and one actually checked up on me afterwards to make sure my appointment went well, since I sounded like a nervous wreck during the scheduling process.  Also, independents are just that: they can do whatever the want.  Agencies have a reputation to protect, since one girl acting rudely to a customer will affect the entire agency.  So they're less likely to cancel at the last minute.

In a nutshell, I would not go near an independent unless I absolutely had to.
