have yet to meet a provider. i am interested in getting together with a particular girl in my area.
i have read her reviews and visited her site. she has a pretty deep review history (15+ if i remember correctly). the only semi-curious detail regarding her review history is that there seem to be minor gaps in it... like her most recent reviews are from aug/sept 09. prior to that she has a 2 month gap. i guess what i would like to see is, now that i am a member (been on TER for a week and just got the vip membership) a review go up about her so i can know that the review is very fresh.
her site seems relatively discreet (no in depth 'service' menus) and professional (wondering is this in general considered a re-assuring factor?). the site also has a request form on her 'cpntact' page, something that i am presuming should be a sign of discretion, but to a paranoid newbie could also be read as LE fact finding. i'm not suggesting anything here, i'm just putting my thoughts out there so you all can advise
i sent her an initial email to which she responded asking for additional info to help her screen me. being that i am brand new to this i have zero references. i have emailed her back and expect to continue the conversation.
i guess a couple direct question i have would be: -is it appropriate to PM any of her recent reviewers? -is there anything that i have overlooked in reviewing this provider, specifically in regards to easing my LE concerns?

My fellow hobbyists. As far as the gaps in reviews, I would not let that be of concern if it is only a month or two. Reviewing TER members are a small minority in the hobby community. Some providers also get reviews on other sites, and may not always target only TER members.
It is good to see a newbie doing his research and asking legitimate questions.

It is great that you are doing the right research. With your statement about being new and not having references, your provider of choice could be very well wondering if you are LE. Believe me I am making no inferences about you here. Just showing another view.
My last review was from May, but I've been active from then right up until now. 90% of my clients are regulars though, and most don't re-review when they see me again. Gaps in reviews don't necessarily mean that a provider is no longer active or is not legitimate. Sometimes they just happen.
Without references you may need to join one of the date checking services like p411, date check, rsk2000. You might want to post on your local board which service ladies use in your area. Good luck
1) You can PM any of her recent reviewers for further info and assurance that she is legit, and to ask any other questions you may have. However, as a newbie w/o reviews, recognize that many of us will be hesitant to respond, for the exact same reason...we may think you are LE.
2) From what I can tell regarding your research, it sounds like the lady you are thinking of seeing has a good website, is taking the proper precautions in her screening, and has enough recent reviews for you to make a judgment as to whether she is worth seeing. The fact that her latest reviews may be a couple of months old is not a red flag...this length of time between reviews is relatively normal.
It is doubtful that LE would go to such lengths to snare a few hobbyists. LE is interested in quantity when going after hobbyists, and is more likely to post ads on CL and other similar sites, and to not screen prospective clients at all.
My personal conclusion from the info you provided is that the lady you are contemplating seeing is probably legit, and that the risk of your walking into a sting is minimal. It is far more likely you will walk away smiling, so maybe it is time man up, and go for it!
