I'm pretty new to all of this, but, I have to say this has to be one of the worst hobbies ever.   I've only been out twice, and they were very different experiences. One was very sensual and relaxing and the second was just sexy as hell throughout the visit, but I came out of both of them feeling like a million bucks. Each experience was awesome in its own way and I'm 100% hooked.
 
Most of the time when you have a hobby people will patronize you and listen to you when you talk about it, but they don't really care. And that's just fine. But with this this hobby I can't talk about it with anyone.  I'm having these absolutely amazing experiences that I never thought possible and I can't say a word to anyone. I stumbled upon this by myself, so there wasn't even someone who introduced me to it.  I'm on my own and it's frustrating.  Still, I don't think I can call it quits just yet.
 
I hate this hobby.  No, I love it.  No, I hate it. Damn.

your hobby experiences.  Fortunately, I have several hobby buddies that I can share my fun times with, and they with me.  I do have a few non hobby friends that know what I do, I just don't share all the juicy details with them.  You might try getting to know some of the hobbyists in your immediate area thru the regional board.  I have gotten to know some and met them for wings and beer at a local Wing House a couple times.  Most of the guys that hobby are pretty good guys.  Start chatting on your regional board and see what happens.

I can relate with the not telling anybody part.  Most of my buddies are single, or not in a serious relationship.  three or four months ago, one my friends was talking about how none of us in the group has been laid this year yet.  It was very difficult to just nod and agree because I wanted to tell them about my experience.  Sadly, I think my friends would be planning an intervention if they knew.

He tells me I have "lost my mind".. so that is what can  happen if you share.. All of a sudden everyone is a financial advisor..

manage your finances.  For one, guys with SO or wives have to figure out a way to stash funds for play.  

but the need to shout it to the world will fade with time and maybe a few mediocre encounters. IMPORTANT: You'll be doing yourself the biggest favor by keeping your trap shut - there are plenty of guys on here with stories of the shit hitting the fan after a "trusted" friend let the cat out of the bag (either maliciously or accidentally).  

I am a brand-spanking-new young AA provider in the DC area and just joined TER to lurk, listen and learn, so you won't be hearing from me much.  No VIP, either.  Working my way through school, love sex, need the bucks so it seemed like a natural.  Sometimes I love it, sometimes not so much.  It'll probably get better when my screening improves and I can weed out the guys I won't enjoy seeing.
I'd rather bag groceries than get pawed by some old sweaty dude with bad breath and stank ass.  But when I open the door and see a nice young guy, well, I am one happy ho! LOL!
So for me, I guess you could say I love it and hate it.

Well that's a totality different point of view that I wasn't expecting. Selfish Bayard that I am, I didn't even think of it from that point of view.
