I know I can always contact the provider but that could get to be annoying to both parties.  I've done a search here but didn't find anything that really answered this question. I've looked at a lot of profiles here and on NR and only seen a couple in the Orlando area that addressed first timers.  I'm sure there are a lot of other newbies that would like to know as well.

Once you join P411, you can see who's listed as "no reference required".

You're just going to have to do some asking around per provider, and would highly suggest you join p411.

At this point I'm a little overwhelmed by all the different sites everybody says are a MUST join.  First it was TER, then Date Check, then P411, then Y2K.... Don't get me wrong I do appreciate your taking time to share your opinion with me, it just seems like by the time I'm signed up I could have had a couple dates... It just gets a bit overwhelming.

But they will make things much easier for you to get what you want. TER VIP is definitley highly recommended, otherwise you will not be able to use the site to your advantage, and you may get ripped off in your first meeting for many times the cost of the VIP membership.

As for the verification sites, you don't have to belong to all of them, but belonging to one of them, will probalbly help get your feet in the door. If you already joined one of them, then look there for newbie friendly ladies, and hopefully you can find someone to your liking, and get your feet wet. Do realize that with no references, even with the membership to a verification site, you still might be expected to give up some personal info to a lady. After you have seen two of them and get OKs or approvals, it will get easier. If you haven't joined any of the sites yet, try to see which one is more used in your area. When you said Y2k, I assume you mant RS2K. that site is wiedely used in Chicago and some other midwest areas but not real popular in other areas. Date-check and P411 are more nationwide.

Look down this page. tTere are at least two threads, still on this firt page talking about RS2K vs P411 vs. Date-check. Check them out. For me personally, I would pick P411.

As far as signing up for these, none of them take very long to sign up for. Should be a matter of hours. A day or two at the most, unless you have something that is very difficult to verify.

If you choose not to join any of them, then keep checking TER (perhaps your local board as mrf recommended) and ad sites for newbie friendly ladies, and be willing to give up some persona info for screening, or be willing to take some risk by seeing some ladies who require no screening, but who will give you references later. That last sentence is really not recommended but I threw it out there because it is an option and you asked for suggestions.

Thanks very much for all the posts and good information.  I have become a VIP on TER and unless something goes wrong I'll "get my feet wet" next  week.  I understand that it isn't easy to find someone that is newbie friendly, especially after reading reviews for several days I can understand why it is important to find someone who will understand the plight of being a newbie.  I think I'm in for a great week.
