how late is too late?

if I contact a provider by when should she reply? one day prior to appt ? the same day as appt.?

I'd think that would depend on what time your appointment is.  I typically set mid-morning dates.  I expect a confirmation from the lady with the general location no later that the evening before.  When I leave my house in the morning I send an email to the lady that I am on my way (always at least  an hours drive) and make sure my phone is on and she has the # if she needs to call.

If you have an afternoon or evening meeting, I would think that a morning  confirmation would be fine.  

Each lady has her own time schedule.  Ask her when and how she expects you to confirm and when she will also confirm (generally it's at the time you confirm with her).

As always, if either of you has to cancel, the faster you inform the other, the better for both parties.

not sure what they expect.

If I start contacting a provider Monday for a Friday appt., i don't think I should have to wait until thursday evening to get a confirmation response.(Likewise if I call Fri for a Mon appt should I wait until Mon morning??? Too late isn't it?)

Of course, they don't HAVE to respond.They put ads on this site and hobbyists ignore them too but at least we've made an attempt to contact.

Okay, I think I understand a little better now what you are really asking.  I believe this is a first contact to the provider wanting to set up a meeting?  If thats the case I would usually give them at least 48 hours to get back to you.  Just me but I normally try to schedule a week ahead.

If you are trying to book on short notice be sure to mention in your request that the lady needs to contact you by whatever date/time.  If  you haven't heard back from her by then, you can try someone else.

A confirmation to me is the final contact between the two parties before they meet face to face.

good point. if they dont answer by a certain time i can move on.

To me , it has to be easy.I dont want to write a cover letter introducing myself or jump through a lot of hoops just to see her. it's hard for me dating in civvie life, I dont want to struggle with this too.

You call a friend to have lunch and tell him you need to hear back by (whenever)

He calls back and says yes he can meet you for lunch at the requested time (date is set)

He doesn't call back so you call another friend  (find another friend for lunch)

The evening before or the morning of the lunch you contact your friend again to say that the lunch is really happening. (confirmation)

When a gentlemen contacts me I send him a reply saying - once I verify you we can schedule our date.
So after he is verified we set up our date .
I always send an email confirmation the day prior to our date and if I don't receive a response by the end of the day, I assume he canceled.

That is the only way to view me ~* Up close & personal.
But as of now my private life does not permit me to travel, so that just means that you will have to make a special trip to Phoenix. :)

your response has been the norm for the ladies I've seen but NOT for all I've contacted. So far, 6 in a row.

Well it depends on your provider references , if any . I usually wait 24 hours for the other provider to verify and if I don't get a response , then yes I will email You in 24 hours or so and let you know.
Employment verification is usually the quicker method,but yes in  no more than 24 hours will you get a response from me.
