I am just curuios what makes a provider change thier name.  Doing my research I have come across many ladies who have gone with several different names during their career.  To me it sendsup a red flag.  Seems like they are trying to hide their past.  Would be curious to hear from some providers on why they would do that.  Seems to me if you have a good repuatation you would want to keep the "brand name".

Never thought of the stalker aspect.  I would guess that happens quite a bit in this hobby.

Ladies change their names for various reasons...

Sometimes its to hide bad reviews, but if it gets noticed and TER agrees, then they will link the old reviews to any new ones they got.

Sometimes, there are issues with stalkers, ex-bf, SO, LE that causes the ladies to change their names..

Sometimes they just get bored and want to try a different name... Just for shits and giggles..

to avoid stalking ex's. From what I remember it had to do with $ and a divorce settlement; in each case, she needed to have no traceable income.

Sometimes we make a big improvement on appearance and we feel like the locals no longer look at our ads because they THINK they know what we look like....so innocent rebranding is another reason.  

Sometimes we choose a cutesy cheesy name and then realize later on down the road we will have to give security guards at condo gates or restaurant hosts a crazy name like Pussy Galore and we realize we should have chosen wiser.

makes zero sense. I see women who have 3 and 4 names on the very same profile, so how is that avoiding anything? Agency girls who go Indy do this many times, so that can also be a reason. They do not want to be associated with the service they delivered for half that rate, now that they are able to offer quality gfe to only a select few.

I changed my image because my first was inauthentic. It was annoying carbon copy of what I thought would get me the clients I wanted.

Thus, I had to recreate myself to become more original and authentic. I had to change myself to be who I am.

I think assuming blanket things about anyone is incorrect ("the must have something to hide). Maybe you could ask the providers you are interested in individually?

Sometimes they just want to change their persona.  Or they want to know what works in different markets.

Some NYC providers charge one rate here but advertise as a different name in, say, NJ, and charge a different rate.

If you are truly in danger but have to keep working, you should do what's known as a hard name change where your entire previous existence is wiped out and you start over from scratch with no reviews, no board postings anywhere.  

If you don't need to go to those lengths, you can do a soft name change where your former identity is just changed to your new one and all your old boards posts and reviews will remain with a new user name.  Some ladies aren't aware of these 2 options and not all discussion boards will be so obliging.  Lots of different variables at work.

I think the women that really need to do the hard changes, do it. I did a soft one cuz I'm so lazy...

Sometimes something as simple as her name was the same (or very close) to another provider's, so the name change is to differentiate.

I love my name and reputation and branding so to speak, but I can see girls that aren't in the same boat as me wanting to hide from a less than stellar reputation. Some girls just want to start fresh also I suppose...

I've also seen some girls in my area changing names frequently to come across as a "new girl" and attract more business...! It may work at first but I'm sure it doesn't last long once people catch on!

There could be all sorts of different reasons why a girl would change her name, but it seems those are the most common one around my way at least.

TER links the names based on IP address. In the case of a stalker, you need to request Admin. to remove the former name for safety reasons.
